i found this a few weeks back. think its gonna be a toss up for me, no telling what the weather is gonna throw our way.
in the mean time i'm just enjoying a nice, mild fall. not often that we get clear weather this far into October so i'm trying not to miss any of it!

G'evening fellow Bro-coma owners. I had a long day, glad that it was nice outside. I started by going to Lowes to get the 12 bags of 60# sakrete and a 18"Ø Sonotube. I haggled a deal on one that was slightly damaged, $15 instead of the normal $40. ( gotta haggle to save a buck anywhere that you can!) I only needed 3' of the 4' length that it came in, but Lowes didn't need to know that. 12 bags of 60# Sakrete into the Taco, watched the 1 year old springs touch the bump stops. :(
(I swear that when I find a clean GMT 400 series GMC, this Taco is going away.)

Anyway, lots of cleaning up the holes from yesterday to get the Sonotubes to fit in there nicely, I mixed up 2 bags at a time and shoveled them in. After 4 bags in the 1st hole, I realized that it was going to take more then 4 bags to go 12", even though the Sakrete chart showed that 4 would be enough. I got all 3 holes filled, ran back to Lowes, got 2 more bags and mixed it up, topped off each hole and called it 'good enough'. I draped some black plastic over each tube. It will only get down into the 50's tonight, so no worries about frost/freezing temps. My back is screaming bloody murder, I had to put on a 5% Lidocaine patch on it. I think that I will be hurting tomorrow, for sure.

no further moose sightings today but plenty of tracks - the creek behind my camp was like a GD moose super highway!
also a full non-moron-y weekend. lots of traffic from ATVs in the area but only a handful of hearty campers willing to tough out the 25* night temps. kinda wish i could have staying longer and waited for the weekend traffic to die down...bet the mooses wouldn't be so shy then!

i'm enjoying it. i usually camp until november (even when i was in a tent) but its usually much more chilly by now. we rarely get any fall weather let alone week after week. not gonna miss out on any of it! ...even if i'm cuddled in my camper blankie fort from 9pm to 9am every day!

    this is my go to.
i skip the red pepper and just use plain diced canned tomatoes and red kidney instead of cannelini beans. and i top it with some wisps parmesan crisps. so good!
