My vibration is around 39-47(ish). It’s like.. a slower pulsing, felt in the floor and steering wheel. Doesn’t cause the steering wheel to shake, it’s more like a buzz feeling. Goes away at 50+ and isn’t noticeable under 39ish.

Typical symptoms? I am lifted, 2”

Just tested. Seemed to go right away in 4x4.

Wonder how much a show will charge to replace it..

You might be able to find someone on here that does it in your area. That's what I did, he only wanted 100 to do it.

I hear it's 120 for a shop to do it. (You provide the parts)

In curious on how many shops understand how to actually do this job lol. I called one, albeit… it’s Sunday, so this shop was just a general place that happened to be open, and they had no idea what I was talking about.

I’ll call my regular shop Monday and hope they can at least give me some insight on cost and abilities.

Mine was doing the exact same thing as you described after I lifted and had the bearing replaced and all good now. Got lucky and called a shop that works on Toyotas and they knew exactly what I was talking about.

Be happy to help ya, you just need the bushing, seal, puller tool and seal install tool from ECGS. But really a local shop should be able to do it for not much more than the tools cost.

I’ll give them a call tomorrow. Worst case, I’d gladly pay you for the help, brother!

I actually need to take my front struts off and have my snap ring moved (to level out my truck after removing my steel bumper). Hoping they can knock it all out. We will see lol

By the time you have the left coilover off you’re halfway or more through the disassembly to get to the needle bearing.

Shops in our area charge $350-380 plus parts. It is about a 2.5hr job (book time). Shop rates here (Ca) are typically 150-200/hr. That's why I started doing them out of my shop for the $200 flat fee plus parts. On a good day, I can get them done in 2ish hours if nothing goes wrong, on a bad day they can take 3-4 hours depending on what gets stuck etc

Do you use your own bearing puller tool or the ECGS one? If the ECGS puller, did you have to modify the smaller piece that goes behind the bearing to get it to fit?

I use theirs. It did take a touch with a file to get it to fit on the first one I did (our own 4Runner) and it has worked on every one I have done since. I can take a pic of an unmodified one and a modified one in a few mins side by side. I keep an extra in case I have a bad day with someone elses truck.

Anybody know of a shop in the Sarasota Florida area that understands the ECGS bushing swap?

I’d be interested to see that picture. Many have said they had to grind or file theirs, and many have said it was fine as is. There’s got to be some variability going on in the manufacturing process for the tool.

You’ll probably have better luck in the Florida regional forum.
