If I told you I once worked for AutoZone, would you believe me.
And if I told you it was the most enjoyable job I had, would you believe me?

And before you ask, Money and less than 34 hours a week is why I no longer work there.

True, key is to ask and make sure

I remember buying a $20 alternator in college from a junkyard, though at least it had been tested before removal. Not ideal, but the overall condition of my vehicle and (more importantly) my financial situation as a starving college kid....

A working part is a good part, whatever sits in your driveway right now is full of used parts.
Especially with things like alternators the original ones seem to be the best.

I've used the "all your parts now are used parts" many times in my life..definitely

Maybe it’s my ability to break the things I fool with.
But I’ve learned, it’s best to not fool with things that don’t need fooling with:rofl:

I don’t clean engine bays, throttle bodies, or change good parts. Like thermostats or PCV valve ect. just because I can. I wait until I have a problem.

It’s like the new “convenience” fees businesses are adding on if you pay via card. Why am I not getting money added to my paycheck for using the “convenient” direct deposit??

LS and manual swap. I double dare Charlie to do it.

My cruise control wouldn't work and I also can't afford that; I'd be better off taking out a loan and buying a new Taco...

This is from another problem 6.0 LS, haven't had a chance to dig into yet. But thinking a rod bearing is completely shot allowing the piston to travel up into the spark plug.

Good chance I will buy a new or remanufactured cylinder head from Pete and have it installed at the dealer. When the frame was replaced, I bought some suspension parts and a water pump from Pete because he was cheaper and had the dealer install them at no extra charge.

FYI, retail is like $1,030 but Springhill Toyota always have lower prices. Check dealerships in the Northeast and see if you can get a better price. I saw a few replacement ones for ~$650, I'd just go oem for the extra couple hundred bucks.
