    Morning
Planted bulbs for wifey yesterday. Donated a snowblower that a very dear friend had as
a backup. He always gave of himself to kids So, in his memory, I payed it forward.

Guys riding lawnmower next door shit the bed 2 weeks ago. Told him I’d do it if he got stuck.
Some lawn care guy came and did it. Looks likes shit. Oh well, I offered….

    Gym this morning.
Installing the motor in the 2000GT restore tonight.

Thanks Mike. Plenty of room in the Ariens to mount a rectifier. It is times like this that I miss having a Radio Shack close by.

THX for posting the pics Mark. Wife commented yesterday, on the way to dinner, that we are going from green to brown this fall. The cutoff for vibrant colors seems to be the Maryland Pennsylvania state line.

We are ready to have our lawn aerated and overseeded today. I am still going to get a half scoop of Compro in the AM. There are a few depressions in the lawn to fill in and we want to place a thin layer of Compro over the grass seed in the renovated backyard area. A friend and his wife do the aeration and overseeding for me as part of a lawn care package. They also gave me a truckload of Compro on Saturday. I will be smoking a chicken for them today on the EX6. Going to try out a new BBQ Chicken rub.

    Good morning all.
Have a tree limb that will require a chainsaw and a ladder.
    What could possibly go wrong?

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Putz and football day waiting for tonight's promised rain. Had fun(ish) trying to teach the Roomba the house - mapping, not so much. It's one of those everything is online deals, and there are a million YouTubes to fill in the blanks (correctly or not!). It's not a huge house, but there are three areas separated by steps. The map we made yesterday while cleaning was "strange" to say the least. So, I think I will delete it, and let it do mapping runs instead. At least it does a good job sweeping, and a great job finding dust bunnies where I can't get the sweeper.
Mike doesn't need to worry about out driving the lights!
And a beautiful fall pic there, Mark.

LOL! Monday morning, and I find I never pushed "Post Reply"! Happy Monday gang. Trying to rain here....

    wait - what!?

I bought an electric pole saw from Harbor Freight, it extends out 10 feet. Obviously it isn't for cutting fire wood but it sure is convenient for branches and such, worth the $70. As a bonus it is quiet too, no ear plugs required.

Probably should consider that idea. I've got Ryobi 18v and 40v stuff. They make pole saws for both batteries

So often you just need to cut just one branch and fooling with a gas power saw is such a p-i-a for one lousy branch.

I trim a Catalpa tree every year. For years I used an 8 foot step ladder and a chain saw, then moved to a saw-z-all with a tree trimming blade which worked quite well actually.

Lately I am either scared of ladders or actually terrified of them depending on circumstances. Now with the pole saw I don't need the ladder at all.

A few cars were including race cars.
Our Lotus 30 was also a backbone chassis

A backbone chassis is pretty much a given in a car that low to the ground, isn't it?

Watched Ford vs. Ferrari (again) yesterday... So enjoyable!
My in-laws raced a Porsche back in the day and had knwon Carroll Shelby.
Tragic about Ken Miles death... I just discovered his son, Peter, worked for Ivan Stewart Off Road Racing (Toyota) here in San Diego County.
    From this site: https://www.pajiba.com/film_reviews/ford-v-ferrari-what-happened-to-ken-miles-son-peter.php
"Peter was also an off-road racer himself. In fact, in the 1990s, he was a mechanic and crew chief for Ivan Stewart, a hugely successful off-road racer known as the “Ironman,” who was later inducted into the Off-road Motorsports Hall of Fame."

Speaking of something similar to that - I wonder how good a battery powered chain saw would be? I have a few chainsaws, gas and plug-in electric, but only use the Husqvarna regularly for the firewood. It's always a chore to start. Sometimes I'll need to just for a cut or two on something that's not too huge. It's very temping to have something where you just depress the trigger.

The quiet feature of an electric saw is a plus too, sometimes I'll see a big branch that fell on the side of the road, too long to fit in the truck. I'd like to be able to cut it without making a lot of noise if it was in a populated area. Reviews I've seen of battery operated chain saws seem pretty good.

I've got a 40v Ryobi 16" Would I cut firewood with it, no. For taking down an 8" tree it was more than adequate and for just cleaning up around the house. And it always starts.
