My new favorite tool. Converted my M12 cutoff to a 1/2” finger sander

I use my mini cut off tool maybe 3 times a year but this....this could be way more useful

Do it its pretty badass: I barely use my cutoff either and I needed something to grind some tight spaces I'm working on at the moment. I bought this adapter (kinda pricey): https://www.ebay.com/itm/274450561719?var=0

and Harbor freight is having a sale on the finger sander this month too so it worked out.

Cool. I mean you still get to keep the guts of the air tool.

Hmm....man...M12 powered sander could be useful, but for the price of the tool I'd be inclined to keep it on air.

    Choices...

The air powered ones the guys at work have are in the $700 range.

I was highly considering getting one until the price tag...

We're hobbyists here though; ain't nobody gonna spend $700 for a sander they'll use only twice as often as their mini cut off tool

How about this. I'll buy one and use it on air, and you buy one and donate it to me for science which I'll use for my M12 tool.

I'll do side by side comparo's and post my thoughts.

    For science of course

Yes but no annoying air hose :boink:

Honestly its only really worth it if you already have the cutoff. its only a bolt and 4 screws away from switching it back.

Actually have one in my Amazon cart but a little afraid to pull the trigger as those kinda tools can be more headache than helpful if the important bits are wingy and coming from China...

    Most likely.

Also because I have so far gotten away without it but I suspect as has been my experience with most tools once I have it I'll learn how useful it really is and end up using it all the time.

Not yet. I'm in the process of moving from Central Oregon to Reno for work and don't have a garage/shop lined up yet. Told myself that I have to refrain from all new tool purchases until the move is complete. The drill press you purchased is on my short list of future purchases though. I do have a Wen band saw though, was also quite impressed for the price. I did see that Swag started carrying a kit for the Wen bandsaw table top adapter though. Maybe in due time.

Head over to the Garage Shop Tools section and you'll see my post about their drill press. I was super skeptical at first cause China but, I'm genuinely surprised with how good things have been turning out.

Although I do want a Made in Usa vise but :spending:

That's good to know, maybe the Wen is actually worth it then.
