Ive been there in years past and it was never that crowded. I think people are desperate for things to do. Everywhere I go lately is just jammed with people. It’s crazy.

Are we on winter blend fuel now?

My fuel economy has taken a half MPG hit over the past few days and my driving hasn’t changed all that much. I’m due for an air filter, but I don’t know what else it could be.

Yup, I noticed a drop in MPG, and I saw a drop in my Dad's 4Runner as well, so I think winter blend is now out :(.

Two sets of twins? So when you were told about the younger twins did you think it was a joke?

My old plant manager had 5 kids (now 6). I would tell people that and the follow it up with "no it's okay two of them are twins, that was a surprise extra. It was the first two, but still".

I got me a set of Oster 76s and oh my god what a difference.

Keep em clean and they'll last forever. I had a set of Wahl before this that weren't dead dead, but I got in before the mark. About ten years old, if they hadn't fallen they'd be mint. Cleaned and sharpened and they were good to go.

    Osters were still worth it.

    Wahhh ....Wanna trade?

:D I'm actually down in NC this week and next. Was confusing, coming down waking up in PA and it was just touching 40°, by lunchtime toward DC I was over 80°. Hell of a temp shift for a couple of hours. Dog's loving it, she hates the cold!

I’d gladly trade the Jeep. These vehicles get beat on down here with the steep hills and off road bits. Whoever on the island owns the brake and transmission shop must do very well for themselves. 1 day in with this Heep and the dash decided to stop working. Otherwise, it’s a huge transition going from my Super Duty to a 2 door Wrangler. I can almost spin this thing around on a single lane road, it’s been air born and I got it to float a tire (on a public road mind you).

I meant more "I'll deal with the jeep if I get to hit the Caribbean for a week and you deal with foliage"

We go to Saint Martin with the inlaws a fair amount, we're going in Feb next year. Those rentals get absolutely beat on.

And no, they don't repair brakes or transmission.

I rented a pair both times I was in Aruba. One time I had a 4cyl 4-door with 285s and it struggled to get up a hill. Stock suspension, no jack or spare. The second one was stock wheels and tires but was a 6MT. The driveline had so much slack I had to alternate between revving the motor way up and squeal or feeling the driveshaft slap around.

Off-roaring on the islands is so much fun though.

I got a new(er) Jeep today, 4 door flavor this time. This one has some diggers on it, Cooper AT3’s, so we’re exploring tomorrow!

I didn't know there was any sort of "off roading"/wheeling/exploring out there, just crappy roads. Now I'm intrigued and might convince the wife to do a split holiday down there. 5 days beach, 1 day wheeling + beaching. I'll have to check into it

You’re right, they’re all technically public roads…. But your standard fwd sedan isn’t making it to some of the more remote beaches!

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I'm thinking about get some basic transportation. A 4cyl, man transmission basic car. The Impreza sport comes to mind. Besides that or a civic what else could I get? How reliable is an Impreza?

I'd lean civic or manual corolla. I hear or see too many things go wrong with subaru so it's reputation is tarnished to me but I'd still love an STI

Mazda 3 hatch is available with a stick and probably cheaper than a Honda or Toyota
