Glad to see that the double cab frame worked out well for you.

 

Yes, it was a risk, but we took alot of measurements and were pretty sure that it was the same

 

We welded some tabs onto the bumper to hold a 1/4" thick aluminum plate:

 

did y'all fabricate the bumper also

we got the bumper painted in POR-15

 

We got the mirrors, door handles, bushwacker flares, and bumper sprayed in Black raptor. We used UPOL adhesion promoter on the plastic parts

we got the hood on, everything lines up great. we are waiting on the little plastic clips to put the headlight filler pieces on

So we called Southern Polyurethanes about coating the bumper aluminum plate in clear coat. They said that pretty much no clear will stick long term to bare alumiinum. But we decided to try it anyways, we can always sand it off in the future if it comes off. We sanded it with 80 grit, then put on some upol adhesion promoter, then put on SPI universal clear that is about 8 years old, left over from my dad's mustang project. so pretty much guaranteed to fail, but looks nice now:

Since it is a white truck, we had to pay tribute to the Ironman:

 

Looks like this thing is almost ready to drive! Hopefully you don't have too much longer to get your license lol I bet you're itching to get behind the wheel

I get my permit soon, but we probably won't register it until spring. I will have to learn on my dad's 3rd gen (which is also a manual).
