Edit, second and third gen’s mount the steering rack in a completely different location than first gen’s.

I have a slight weep with my rack right now…too much static steering, hard habit to break. Gotta put this on the list to do…

I wish companies would give you the option to not have their logo on their armor. I wound up getting RCI’s skid because shipping for CBI’s skid was over half the cost of the skid itself. My OCD is kicking in.

It was a bit of a hassle to get it to fit into a 3rd gen, and technically the racks seal design is the same. But, its freaking huge so theres less deflection, which is part of the reason why the seals wear out/blow. Good piece of mind that I mechanically shouldn't break this rack, since I've had a handful of buddies break the mounts off their stock racks, and a couple bend the rack bar itself.
Steering power is a bit more, although my factory pump is on its last leg so will eventually get a psc pump.
Steering feel is awesome with the solid bushings, handles like a racecar

Every thread I’ve read about it seems like a PITA to get it in. Did you not want to get that upgraded tundra pump from the dude who was selling them here?

No welding skills. This sounds like the primer to teach myself.

Long time no see gents. My Tacoma is starting to get too small for the family, so it's looking like it might be time to sell it and move onto something else. Prices are all over the place these days for these things, anyone got any idea what they are actually selling for? Or do you just want to get the Craiglist lowball offers out of the way and make one yourself?

Mine is a 2012 with 130k miles. Lots of little mods done to it, with the big ones being
    • ToyTec 2.5 Aluma series coil overs with 2.5” rear shocks 8k miles ago
    • OME Dakar XL leaf springs
    • Light Racing UCAs
    • Rock sliders
    • Custom front bumper with LED lights
    • SCS F5 17x8.5 et-10 wheels with Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 285/70/17 tires
    • Leer 100XR Canopy with VanTech J1000 roof rack
    • 2014 Entune head unit with aftermarket speakers and sound deadened interior
    • Morimoto Mini bi-xenon projector retrofit with DDM 35w ballasts and 4500k bulbs
At the moment the truck needs nothing besides an oil change and a detail, and maybe an alignment.

I just realized I don't have any recent pictures of it, but it looks pretty much like this except the headlights are TRD style now with the black housings.

Sell the wheels and tires, I'd probably price it at about $28,000, which is nuts, and realistically consider any offer over 25

my buddy bought a similar second gen recently with 150k miles, lift, sliders, wheels/31” tires for 23k so I think 25-28 depending on what you leave on it is good.
