Don't find many roads above 11,500 feet, but I couldn't complain about this one in the Eastern Sierra. After waking up here, we took a short hike up to ~12,144.

I had the fortune of living in Lake City 1970-72. It has certainly changed!
I believe where your Tacoma sits is the same place I would bring aspen limbs to most evenings after work. There was a beaver hut across from it and “0” aspens around the lake. I eventually got the beaver to come out of his hunt when I would slap the water with the aspen limbs. He learned to swim over and take the limb back to his hut where he would sit on top munching his aspen. Thanks for bringing back great memories!

That'd be fun! I have a lot of family activities and projects going on right now, but around the middle of November I'll be available.

image007.jpg 4x4, new to this site and my old tablet... Well... for whatever reason I select singular pics and it seems to post duplicates.

But yes, G2G is kitted with a propane smokeless fire pit. It was a contribution to the build by my wife. It's used everytime we are out. For the most part it is permitted during fire bans in our forests.

Having said that we use responsible judgment allowed or not to prevent any fire in our forest. We can get about 10 hours use depending on intensity.

Pros - allowable during ban times (at times)
    No smoke
    No spark

Cons - I do pack around the large propane tank in a milk crate. Its heavy...

Its round.... Sure I can accomodate securing it for transport. But... I wish it was square/rectangular for loading reasons.
    4x4... I can't tell the wife that.

Leto its to be appreciated. You saw it and got it. Kinda like your driveway was the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Great time of year. We'll be hunkering down soon.

Does anyone get depressed when their truck is out of commission or in the shop? Is this a normal thing?

I get depressed when I have to spend money to fix something expensive. I don't have an emotional attachment to my truck.

I don’t like it when I have to spend time away from it only if it’s because of a mechanical issue. I think maybe I blame myself for it.
