Colorado Springs has a small airport. I've heard a few stories of people stashing their knife in a potted plant to retrieve on the way home.

 

I would have thought by now everyone would realize the war on drugs was just a war on poor people and that the drugs won.

 

It’s like they don’t realize drug smugglers operate way more creatively and at way higher volumes than that. What a waste of time.

 

My dad used to take it to lost and found and then claim it on the way home.

That's good. I like that.

Although at an airport like COS, probably more time-consuming than just walking it back to your car.

 

We went to the aquarium in San Pedro this Sunday which is right by the port of LA/Long Beach, miles and miles of port activity. Daughter wanted to go to the beach that was right there so we did, the entire time she's running in the sand I'm just holding my breath hoping she doesn't step on a tossed syringe.

Malibu might be hoity toity as hell, but at least the junkies there are too concerned about their image to be using needles so you don't really have to worry about those beaches

Ventura/Oxnard is also a hotbed of that stuff

I'm planning on asking in the early new year, I've learned in the past at this company that the last few months of the year is not a good time to ask for a raise lol. They are so concerned with the budget numbers looking as good as possible and I was told to ask again after the new year.

 

Treat HR like a a cable company.

Call early on a Wednesday morning, ask to speak to a cancellation agent, hope they pitch a retention plan.

(I accept no responsibility if they call your bluff and you end up out a job).

Went with this versus the F (at $10 more) in the event that I need to diagnose shit and my GPU shits the bed

 

Got invited by two of my flight instructor friends to fly out to Colorado for some hiking and other shenanigans. Problem is I committed to run a beer mile that weekend with another friend. I hate bailing on people and usually commit to whoever I made plans with first.

But after this year all I’ve wanted to do is gtfo out of Texas and this town for a weekend. Hard decision.
