We did a Captain Jacks/Chutes loop and it was a lot of fun. The final climb was a hike a bike for me lol. We thought about riding Ute Valley/Palmer Park but wanted to check out a few different places.

We hiked the other side of Pikes Peak at Mueller State Park and that was cool, and then did a day trip to hike at RMNP and that was pretty sweet.

In a zipper pocket in my shorts. If I don't have a zipper pocket, it goes in my hydration pack.

I tried a bar mount for the phone but it wasn't great so I prefer just putting it in a pocket.

    Yeah.
I put it in a pocket on my pack, or if riding with water bottles only I wear a jersey with a zip pocket on the back. I can't stand having things in my shorts pockets while riding, if it can be helped.

I have a hip pack (read: fanny pack) that I use to hold my phone. When I do a gravel ride, I have a frame storage bag that it goes in.

I've never ridden one, just saying what's up man? It's been a while since I've seen you post haha.

If you want a solid deal on a different 29er hardtail, Catoctin bikes up near Frederick has a medium Knolly Tyaughton frame on sale, I think it was $799 if I remember correctly. The owner has one setup single speed and let me ride it around the parking lot, it's a sweet bike

    not enough.
very much so. less friendly it seems.

I either put it in my pants pocket or the pocket on my jersey. there's a pocket on the small of my back that is zippered so I put it in there and my backpack covers that so it's extra protected.
