What to look out for at a junkyard

So I’m going to the junkyard tomorrow with a friend to help him rebuild his 97 4Runner. Is there anything I should be on the lookout for my truck? I was considering the Chevy leaf spring swap but I am useless with a welder. I’m also gonna look for a TRD-OR rear axle so I can get that sweet sweet rear locker. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

2nd gen Toyota rarely end up at the pick n pull because junk yard dogs know they can get better prices for parting out themselves. If you do find a 2nd gen take what you can if the price is right. Front cv axles and steering knuckles are good to have spares.

 

Yeah, a while back when I was in my accidents I was looking for a bedside panel and couldn’t find any within 200 miles. This junkyard has one 2nd gen but it looks like it’s been picked clean from the pictures online. Mostly looking for things I can get off other cars and use them to modify or as a spare for my truck. I’m seriously considering just picking up the Chevy leaf springs just in case I magically get better at welding later.
