After all this talk of lube... anybody ever seen a connecting rod with a pinch bolt? It's a first for me. I'm betting @FlyingWolfe and @Tacoma Mike have seen one before.

No....I fully understand that. But what I'm saying is my air handlers are rated 1 ton above the pumps. They move some serious air....and force the warm air downward before it rises....creating a convection current.

What tonnage is each heat pump? And I'm guessing you have 10kw electric strip heat for backup?

1946 ish Willy's engine. We did get that piston free, with a two foot long two inch thick steel shaft as a hammer.

Whoever built your house was smart. Even though your house isn't particularly large, I think that the majority of 2-story homes over about 1,500 square feet benefit from dual-zone.

Any tips for cleaning up these valves? I was thinking some lapping compound and 40 grit sandpaper? 1B8CE317-2077-4F4E-8394-A200A017C796.jpg

Schnitzer should be paying decent for that right now. They’ll prob give you a solid $10 spot and crisp high-fiver.

I figured with the old stuff your pops works on you may have seen one. I told my friend that if he's lucky, he's got a possibly salvageable block and a good crank. Beyond that, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yeah we figured out why it was that crusty in that one cylinder. The spark plugs had been left out for 15 ish years. That cylinder plug hole lines up with the gap between the cab and the hood.
