That's not because we don't want to help out the 2nd gen 2.7. We've got no tools available to us that would enable us to develop it.

When we can tune it, you can be assured we will offer it. Promise!

I read through a few of the first and last pages and didn’t this see this info. Apologies if it’s been asked.

Can this be done remotely, via VF Tuner or equivalent? Or do they have to be in person?

I have a very old dongle OVT tune on my truck (think 4-5 years or so) from when gear lock first came out. I’ve been wanting to update for a few months not but can’t get ahold of OVT so I need to start over.

Truck has 38’s with 4.88 and the v6 with very minor performance upgrades (cat back, HPS intake tube, kn filter). Tune has to have gear lock.

Anyway…is there a remote option for it?

If you can get your VF software updated and running, @Boltripper (John) can sell you a tune pack. You can load it yourself.

I also saw some traffic that you’ll be in the SLC area, I can get you set up locally here in SLC as well. I’ll send you a PM with a few options.

I’ll check it out. As for VF software I don’t even have that. That’s why I’m a little disappointed I can’t get ahold of OVT. It’s 75 bucks to upgrade.

OTT is releasing calibration support for the 2016+ 3.5L Magnuson Supercharger kits.

Smooth and predictable output and refined shift scheduling make this a dream to drive and a blast to rip on. Building on our past experience tuning boosted Toyota's we are finally able to offer our work for the 3.5L boosted crowd. Years of development of the 1GR-FE and 3UR-FE/FBE engines have left us hungry to explore the 2GR-FKS potential with forced induction. So hungry we purchased a 2022 Tacoma TRD O/R as a development vehicle with the intention of putting this kit on and developing the standard kit on a 100% stock truck (as we have dyno'd below) with plans to offering additional pulley support and other modifications to improve the breathing ability of this motor. As we develop the platform further you can expect 87mm and 84mm pulley support and fueling solutions to tackle the added fueling demands the additional airflow will require.

For now, we're pleased to present the results of our "stock" supercharged calibration:

    OTT_3G_SC_Peak_SAE5_Solo.jpg

Versus the same truck bone stock:

    OTT_3G_SCvsStock_Peak_SAE5.jpg

*All runs performed on 91 Octane fuel from a Tier 2 gas station. Truck is 100% stock aside from the Magnuson kit installed as supplied.

Great work! It'd be cool to see one more line - stock truck, OEM calibration.

I believe the red line in second picture is bone stock calibration on stock truck.
The Magnuson supercharger on Magnuson tune usually gets it to 308hp and ~275ft-lbs of torque to the rear wheels. Now with their tune on the Magnuson supercharger they got about 40 more hp and 15 lbft of torque, which is good!

You know what'd be fun for my next project, if I can get rid of the jeep? A salvaged 3rd gen turned into a blown death cart!

I had the pleasure of meeting up with John today to get my truck tuned. This was a first class service, including a ride-along with live data logging to make sure everything was working as it should.

For the last year I've been running the ShiftSense Pro, and although it certainly helped, it wasn't quite as good as I had hoped. The Overland tune is definitely much better, smoother, and just more natural feeling. On my ~2 hour drive home I did plenty of highway and plenty of side country roads with uphills on both. I seriously had to watch my speedometer because suddenly my overweight turd of a truck was doing speeds that the local boys in blue would certainly not appreciate. I was even able to pass going uphill on the highway without any effort, something that previously would make the truck and my blood pressure redline.

The shifting is very natural and quick, I'm surprised how much the truck can actually do in RPM ranges that previously would result in a shift. Very weird feeling compared to the stock tune, but in a good way.

I went with the medium pedal response (with spicy in ECT mode), which is going to take a little getting used to for sure. I accidentally peeled out on my gravel driveway, my neighbors must now assume I'm having my midlife crisis. But seriously, if you're considering it, just get this tune.

I see there is a person in Georgia that will be doing it. Do you know when the information will be updated?

    Rob,

We are adding a North Georgia calibrator in the coming weeks. Once we have everything sorted, we will update the map.

    Kind regards,

    John

Well, We put our 2022 Tacoma back on the rollers after our initial supercharger dyno session. It was time to wrap up the 87mm pulley tune and squash the rumors there are fueling issues with this kit and the 87mm pulley.

Here's what we were able to do versus the same truck, on the same fuel from the same station just a few days later:

    90mm vs 87mm

And for those concerned about fueling. We're good to go.

What's your planned setup? We've done a few and the Harrop is the one that will get to 500whp easiest. We can just about get there on the OE airbox, but just before (about 480whp) we run out of MAF and have to go to a larger housing.

If 500 is your goal we're going to have to put in some work to get there on the TVS1900. The 2650 rotor pack on the Harrop is king there.
