Curious as well. Seems weird that the superior vehicle would have issues.:D:bananadance::crapstorm:

I was worried it might be bad but its not at all. Plus still rides great and handles weight a lot better

Okay all you Dobinsons guys-did you run the long travel rear shocks? What changes did you make? Dobinsons says you need a longer bump stop so they don't compress too far. I have the Alchemy Garage bumps: are they long enough? One change leads to another... but I don't like the cost! At this point limit straps are looking mighty good... Need some advice here from the hive mind.

Limit straps are always a good idea with extended travel shocks. Brake lines/abs sensor wires make crappy limit straps lol

With longer travel shocks the body is longer so the shock can bottom out before hitting the bump stops which is no Bueno. So a spacer may be needed for the bump stop. Luckily that'd be easy with the archive garage bumps. Limit straps are always a good idea, but as I say that mine have been sitting in a box for a year.....

My cousin just joined the Tacoma crowd. He got himself a sweet Pro in the green color. He admittedly has no idea how the 4wd system works, so I was warning him not to use the 4wd system willy nilly, especially since he drives a lot of tight curvy roads.

I got a question for you tacoma experts. Is the 22 Pro the same old-school part-time 4wd system as the SR5 and Off Road trim 4runners? Or is it an all-time 4wd like the limited trim 4runners?

Do they come with a lever instead of a dial knob to select 4wd?

All 3rd gen Tacoma's are part-time 4wd, with the dial Knob (2WD, 4HI, 4LO). Now you're going to have to convince him to come out and play!

You went long travel correct? You also changed mounts as I recall.

    Perfect, thanks for the info!

Man would I love for him to come and play with us! I already sent him a picture of yours flexed out…immediately followed by an apology for being a bad financial influence :p.

Unfortunately, the drive up to any northwoods activities will be tough for him…because he’s in Puerto Rico

I could have him scout out some trails for us down there. Hmmm….

Yes, went with the Archive Garage Shock Relocation Kit and Fox 2.0 12" stroke shocks. Which gave the ability to set where the rod end is on the axle and where shock body sits. So I didn't have to loose any up travel by messing with the bump stops.

I was speaking about your possible scenario of using the factory shock mounting points. So effectively you'd be moving the compressed range of your rear suspension down by the difference of the the stock and extended shock compressed length and gaining some droop.
