IDK for sure yet, I'm torn. I really want something to ride with my kids (they both have PW50's) but also kind of want something I can tag. If I go with something that is tagged or that I can tag it will most likely be an older WR450 or a CRF450x. If I go with a normal dirt bike I'm leaning towards either a Yamaha or KTM 2 stroke.

For the CRF, are you gonna do the South Dakota route? I've read tagging a dirtbike in AL is a bitch and that the SD way was the easiest. The WR450F was already street legal right?

The WR wasn't street legal from the factory. Its Yamaha's version of the 450X. But yes if I can't find one already tagged I will go the SD route. A buddy of mine in college had a WR450 that came out of TN that was tagged. It was sweet and I have wanted one ever since.

I thought the F was the street legal version.

I'm not up to date with Yamaha, but if they make the Tenere 300..........I'm going back to "blue"

Wow, did not know that. I have never seen one that came factory street legal. Everything I can find say says they are off-road only. If I had the $$ I would have a KTM 300 and a Tenere 700 lol. If I ever buy an adventure bike it will be a Tenere. I'm a Yamaha / KTM Fan boy

I absolutely love the T7. I just don't want/need a bike that heavy. There's been rumors of Yamaha producing the Tenere 300 since 2020. They could easily use the same drivetrain from the R3. Just as they did with the T7 and MT-07. I've owned YZ125's, and have no complaints with Yamaha......Honda was my first bike.....so always have a soft spot for them :D

Yanaha came in late with the R3, so there's a chance they'll come in late with a small ADV bike............I sure hope so :D

Its really hard to beat a Honda, My dad has a 88 model Honda 300 fourtrax that has never needed anything until about a year ago when the CDI box crapped out. I have a 99 Yamaha bear tracker 250 Dad bought me new that has only ever had a throttle cable replaced. No telling how many hrs are on that thing. I was in the 3rd grade when I got it lol.

Any of the Japanese bikes are incredibly durable. I'd have no qualms with owning any of them. The looks of the Rally won me over this time. Now if Yamaha makes the T3 with the sameish 44hp/25tq as their other 300cc's, where the CRF300's have 27hp/19tq..........I'd go T3 :D

It is another cool day despite sunshine in full supply; highs this afternoon are only in the upper 50s to lower 60s for most locations. Again, well-below average for this time of year. Another freeze will occur tonight, with upper 20s and lower 30s common first thing tomorrow morning.

TOMORROW/FRIDAY: The warming trend begins tomorrow as afternoon temperatures rise into the mid 60s. Friday will be a sunny day with a high in the low 70s after starting the day in the around 40°. Another great night for high school football games across Alabama Friday night; the sky will be clear with temperatures falling through the 60s.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: South Alabama will host Troy tomorrow night in a Thursday night special (6:30p CT kickoff); the sky will be clear; about 66 degrees at kickoff… upper 50s by the fourth quarter. A perfect night for a big South Alabama battle.

UAB has a Friday night special this week; the Blazers travel to Bowling Green to take on Western Kentucky (7p CT kickoff)… the sky will be clear with temperatures falling from around 65 degrees at kickoff into the mid 50s by the final whistle.

Saturday, Jacksonville State hosts SE Louisiana (1:00p CT kickoff)… the sky will be sunny with temperatures in the mid 70s.

Alabama will host Mississippi State Saturday evening (6:00p CT kickoff); the sky will be clear in Tuscaloosa with temperatures falling from near 74 at kickoff into the 60s during the second half.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: The warming trend continues; highs will be in the mid to upper 70s over the weekend with a sunny sky both days. Lows will be in the 40s and 50s.

NEXT WEEK: Monday will be dry, but showers and storms look to return to the state by Tuesday and Wednesday with our next storm system.

IN THE TROPICS: All is quiet and no development is expected through the weekend. Don’t forget the season does not end until the end of November, which means we still have over a month to go before we can breathe easy
