Its got 37k miles and did you buy it from the dealer? Cause if they told you that's normal that the biggest heap of crap and id raise hell till they fixed it. Is it under warranty still? Did you try calling toyota themselves and tell them about the dealer and what they said?

There is a fix for that!
remove all spark plugs, pour 3 tablespoons of Bon Ami Cleanser down the plug holes
    install spark plugs
    start up

it will smoke a little, but your oil driinking problem is corrected

the cleanser will scour the cyl walls , remove the glaze, and even un-freeze the rings from the pistons
used car dealers do this all the time and yes it does work

banana peels stuffed into noisy differentials will quiet them down

(note: If I continue giving out used car dealer tricks they are going to kill me)

    yea, saw dust does work

ever see the "Quick Patch"? they mix body putty with paint reducer to thin it out as a paint, then they paint it thin on a piece of wax paper then place it over the hole in the body and roll it out with a rolling pin, let it dry and peel off the wax paper and its smooth enough to paint without sanding.

I shouldn't give out these secrets, I have tons more, somebody is going to kill me.

Read last 2 pages of oil drinking. All dealers (4) called mag. all ref. to own. man. 1 qt. per 600 mi. is ok. I dont think this is the only one
with bad rings or valve seats. If they want to go inside eng. She is agoner from me.

How do they justify that as being ok? Go higher than the dealerships call toyota corp and be like wtf cause it ain't right and your paying for something that should be working fine. You can push for an engine swap if you don't want them tearing apart yours

I'd get rid of the oil burning one way or another. All that oil is building carbon deposits in the engine and shortening the life of the expensive catalytic converters. Trading it in on another of the same year and mileage may cost less than an engine replacement. Make sure you trade it to the same dealer who is telling you it's normal. Then they can tell the new owner it's normal as well. Hopefully the new owner is the type to check their oil often.
