Yeah, timing belt is due at 115k and your motor WILL fail catastrophically if you don't. You'll see a lot of examples for sale in the 80-115k mi range because people either don't want to pony up or have already jeopardized the car and want to dump it quick

I never changed any of the timing belts. I think the outback got traded in around 130K and the WRX around 145K. I did open up the cover to look at the belt on the WRX once and it looked fine.

That's what I keep thinking about getting. But I keep stopping myself for exactly that reason. I also want to try to keep miles off the truck because they got too expensive and I want to hold onto it longer.

What I really want is an XC60 R T6, but an F-150 Lariat plus one of those is not really realistic on a public school district salary.

The girlfriend and I have talked about splitting something nicer like that. I'd use it for commuting and she could take it on her relatively frequent longer drives to see family.

The Mazda B series (94-98) was a rebadged Ford Ranger. Before and after that 5 year run the B series was produced by Mazda.

    I have a "Corolla/Nova" emblem on my '72's trunk lid .

When the car was painted in '86, there were no OEM emblems available, used ones were crusty and pitted and repro emblems weren't being made yet.:notsure:

    Looks like dis...

    You guys are crazy! Lol

Ok, I've got a guessing game for you guys and girls; automotive related. Guess what car I'm thinking about. Chrysler had a upscale car made to complete against Cadillac. The car was made by someone else though. What was it called and who made it for them?

When I was in high school in the mid 70's, I remember a few of these cruising around town.

    Big Block Mopar powered.
440 six pack was an option.

@CTSpruceMica , see any back then?

    Turbocharged coupe.

As a kid going through the Auto Hunters (remember those?) I always wondered why there was a LeBaron called a Maserati at like double the cost.

I know they’re fundamentally different but to this day, they just seem the same to me.

The TC was the third partnership between Iacocca and DeTomaso, what were the other two?

Correct on the turbocharged coupe. Without looking it up I know Mitsubishi was for the most part the engine supplier but not sure who the other one you are looking for.

Funny little take about Mitsubishi supplying the engines. The car was called TC (Turbocharged Coupe) because of the 4cyl turbo engine out of the Daytona but at one point you could get the 3.0 Mitsu V6 without a turbo in a TC.

I guess I should have made that a trivia question too!

    Three separate vehicles, not parts.

I actually did mine at 60,000. I was near the 105 month mark and did it as a preventative measure. I should have never sold that car and just bought a beater early C4. Bah.

I passed on a real hot early Jeep years ago and still kinda wish I hadn't. Clean restomod, whole pig was rhinolined baby blue. Looked GI otherwise except the LEDs and slightly built drivetrain. It was sitting in a lemon lot on base and I had the TDY money sitting in my account. Sigh.

Edit: just saw you said C4 not CJ /-:
