Looking for some insight on who/where this would find it's best use. Looking to sell it eventually, it runs, but has a leak somewhere keeping it from holding a full tank over 24 hours. Thinking it is a valve as opposed to tank damage. Just wanting feed back on this type and model. Thanks.

Good cover of the Human League song, 3 weeks at #1 on the US charts in July 1982. They were a Brit band BTW.

@RustyGreen - you're up dude! If the postage weren't so high, it would definitely find it's best use with me!

That is a Rolls Royce class machine!

It is a 2 stage machine good for 175 psi, the 3 belt drive makes me suspect it is a 3-5 hp unit good for about 15 - 18 scfm.

Curtis has been making that pump since 1897 (not a typo), their top of the range, they appropriately call it "The Masterline".

That one has the old style flywheel head unloader, I have a 1944 unit with the same. Later units don't use that but I don't know what year the change was made.

The date of manufacture might be on the tag on the base under the motor, if there is a tag welded to the tank it will be there too.

With reasonable care that is about as close to a lifetime machine as possible.
There are just a few equals but no finer machines built.

If memory serves me correctly they used the head valves as the tank check, the small tank item in the photo is just a muffler I believe.

If the tank checks out well the easiest way to keep the pressure is to put an in line check valve in the line between the pump and tank.

McMaster - Carr can provide for a reasonable cost.
Edit: And a new quality air filter assembly too.

Admittedly, even after using AutoCAD for 25 years, I was not aware of that particular command so while I was testing it out, I was thinking "if this :censored: works, 1) I'm going to be pissed but 2) holy crap that would be nice".

No dice, at least not with the bathroom I used as a guinea pig:

    Screenshot 2022-10-19 150733.jpg

The white polyline is using the boundary command, the orange is what I need it to be.

    Appreciate the suggestion, though!

Do you guys ever get into the BIM/Revit file side of things. It's been 10 years since I left the AEC world, but I worked with few institutions that where taking our BIM models and integrating them into their facility management software's.

I don't think even I could pull that one off with Mrs Green...

If I can grab it and get back in town before she gets out of work usually I can slide something in to a dark corner of the garage.

Rusty after a 400 mile day trip:
"That? :notsure: ... Oh, yeah - I just dragged it out from over there yesterday..."

Thanks Rusty, miss you all as well.
Woke this afternoon and changed oil on Impala 190,421 miles! Daughter has been driving that one.
Picked up dog doodoo and scoop the cat boxes, showered and now about 15 minutes left to round up food for the night and get out the door.
I know several of the crew has worked these kind of hours and know what it's like. Fun..lots of fun:rolleyes:
Anyway yes to being safe, that's always first and foremost.
    Have a great evening all.

Pretty awful photo, I was standing on a snowblower...
This is the single cylinder Curtis compressor in the same family.
This is the oldest unit I have in the archives, dating back to the 1920s iirc.

Here is a close up view of the flyweight centrifugal unloader, note that this machine is old enough to have a flat belt drive instead of a conventional v belt. The pulley isn't actually flat, it has a crown to assist the belt in staying aligned.

    KIMG2545.jpg

This is the other half of the unloader, the flyweights move a linkage to this, it holds the valve open until the pump comes up to speed.
