For the bottom brackets I measured from the firewall not form where the directions said. Also I had to trim the rubber side panels they need to be removed prior to drilling

First mod I did as well. Then a while later I noticed rock chips down the sides of my truck. Then, I put the mud flaps back on. LOL

Custom, only one ever designed and built interiors, heavily welded frame, all sharp metal turned bed rack and a roof top I made for $75. Power pedal, injen intake system, cat delete, summit racing brake proportioning valve controlled on the fly, slightly adjusted or perhaps unrecognizable ECM, built in under bed storage, high clearance rear built with 1/4" on a 6011 1/8" rod at 120 amps, 360 degrees of led light, a PA and CB, on board air, on board propane (to cook food), on board fridge made from an old red bull fridge found on some guys man cave built into the storage cubby under the back seat, imported tranny and clutch from a good friend over in Europe to replace this aisin junk we get, combined 32 gallons fuel capacity, 18 5 gallons of water storage, built in gun locker under RTT, and all it cost was to hear the wife ramble on about upset neighbors at 2 in the morning every night since I bought that damn truck..
While waiting on parts for 2019, I decided to get creative as I had nothing to do except wait (broke down) and I have a truck full of tools and solar energy to keep the batteries charged. That's when it hit me, those two lincoln electric welders in what used to be the back seat are taking up too much space. I should build me an onboard welder. Just so happe s I had my old cummins alternator which still works I just don't need that or batteries for its operation (long story) and the alternator for my 84 hilux. Conjoined them and with out much trouble at all to my dismay, actually fits in the same hole as the stock 2019 alternator. Problem solved for future issues was a bonus. One wire internally regulated but wait there's more. Took a headlight switch with the dimmer knob and wired that all up which was out of a 97 k1500 and fused it to ground. Need a 3 phase at this point but now I have a system that runs off the alternator which in design, won't have issues with what few computers I have left as primary charging is from the solar I rigged up. The one wire off the alternator goes to my secondary electrical system that at this time is not connected to anything at all unless I throw a manual handle. The dimmer switch I tied into the pedal commander and had to figure out which wire led to the signal sender in the gateway that tells it to hammer down. Now, like an electric PTO, I can actual Increase engine rpm on a switch for higher amperage providing I'm in neutral and don't have to worry about running my ass over. No clutch safety to worry about and as a test, I uses to leads from my stick to try it. Definitely gotta get it perfect but it didn't cost me a penny as this was out of boredom. I'll get more pics as I clean up some wiring but here's the finished alternator.

'Bout to put these on in next few days, as soon as I find a shop that will do it.

Had to order from tirerack.com, all the local shops claimed "They are not allowing me to order those tires".......

Funny because this is my 2nd gen spare size to match diameters with my other (4) 265/70/17 tires. It took weeks to find one in that size locally. 2 weeks after getting it mounted and balanced with a new tpms (yes my 2nd gen has readable tpms in the spare) I bought a new 17 inch spare with a matching wheel.

Yes, sure do. Sadly the Tacoma does not have a neutral position for the transfer case so the driveshaft has to be disconnected or removed. The other challenge was what to do about the steering lock. Some have gone so far as to disassemble the housing, grind off the tamperproof bolt heads and remove the solenoid. Thanks to a forum member who identified a specific fuse that if pulled before opening the door, would prevent the lock from engaging. A better solution was adding a fuse tap in that location and connect it to a switch that could be flipped before opening the door.

We had just completed a 5,000 miles western trip towing our Mini Cooper just before purchasing the Taco. I got it all setup in time to do another 5,000 mile trip and for the most part, couldn't tell the difference in what I was towing. Gas mileage was unchanged which surprised me as I was prepared to pay a small penalty for the larger toad. Moving out from a dead stop was the only time I could feel the additional weight.

Yeah there’s a lot of that crap out here too. They don’t wanna get sued for a potential liability. Which really doesn’t exist. If you drive like an asshole on oem tires or oversized tires the result is the same. Regardless!!! Boggles the mind really.

Nice looking tread, what are they? I've had luck going to small, local shops to have non-stock sizes mounted, especially if I brought the wheels in loose. The chain stores, Walmart, and the Costco type of places won't do it. However, I've had Walmart do it if I brought the wheels and tires in loose. Luckily my cousin is working at a garage msybe 20 minutes from me so I go to him and bring a handle of Tito's as a gesture of appreciation. I do have to pay for the disposal though.

The tire shops I called could order many other Coopers oin the same size, just not the S/T Maxx. They could get the Pro, but I don't want that aggressive of a tread pattern. It was only the Maxx that they can't order.
