I like the manual 5 speed in my 2WD. Only time I lack power is in the summer with the AC on in 5th gear and need to pass. I find it helpful to down shift to 3rd gear. ;)

Welcome to the thread. You might have to turn on the overhear infrared heaters to be comfortable now days.

My Uncle, tough as nails guy that could drink you under a table, was a navigator on B17'ws flying sorties over Germany out of England during WWII. He did not talk at all about his experiences.

Susan: Costco replaced part of the hearing aid yesterday. I also made an appointment to have the hearing aids reprogrammed next Thursday. I think the hearing in my right ear has deteriorated in the last year and a half.

Good morning, all. Finishing up the backyard project for the fall today, raking the area level, putting down more seed, and covering with straw. Cooking up some country ribs for dinner tonight. The ribs are soaking in a wet brine now. I will also do a burn of the wood waste in the firepit. I really should do some cleaning in the garage. Also need to go to Harris Teeter, today is Senior discount day.

I just had my fifth, my first two suckethed much, the next three were non-events. It is strange how the different shots affect folks in such different ways.

Funny. When it was time for our booster we got Covid. Lol..
    Figures.
    Mild.
So we decided not to do that booster and we waited until the updated one was available.
I’ll tell you one thing though. The first shot, my symptoms, made me feel like 15 years younger.
I felt GREAT. My arm killed me but wow.. I was flying around the shop and got a lot done. It only lasted 3 days… I told the wife, that if this is what this stuff does to you I’ll get a shot a week lol.
Yea second one was the opposite. My ass was dragging with a 10 pound weight..

When my wife and I got our first and second shots we were still living on a horse farm as caretakers, the first two mornings after the jabs we were like the walking dead trying to care for the horses.

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Mowed first yesterday, then did that leak search. Today, I will see if I managed to take care of all the problems with cooling!

I've had both C shots, two boosters; never a problem. Got this years flu shot same time as the booster. Tetanus shot slowed me down a bunch next day, but was told that was probably really the infection on my hand. (which looks a lot better this week!)

Welcome @TacoJoe480 ! Great place here. Newbies fill the cooler, and DON'T sit in Mikes recliner! Since we're all doing yard work, if you don't mind taking a trimmer down the walk, that'd be great!

Has he been cleared to use that trimmer.
You know what happened to “that guy” when he said he could use one..

We’re not all doing yard work. Some of us will expend more energy avoiding yard work than actually doing the yard work. ;)

I think I mowed my lawn three times this year. I finally convinced my wife that she doesn't have to water all the flippin' time.

Doing one of my honeydo projects it occurred to me that the screwdriver is probably the most useful tool in the box. It gets used as a pry bar, scraper (phillips--not so good) and sometimes to drive screws. I used one to dig out some wax for my table saw. Another I modified for a special tool requirement (don't remember why).

No doubt the most used/abused tool in the box. Adding to your list they can be a chisel, nail set, electrical connector/high amperage fuse, hole punch, scribe and the jeweler’s screwdrivers for cleaning under fingernails.

    @95SLE

You mentioning your B-17 navigator Uncle reminded me of something. When I did my flight one of the other folks was an elderly gentleman who had flown in combat, was shot down and spent nine months in a POW camp. During pre-flight the pilot said the 17 was capable of 300 mph.

Hearing that the older gentleman laughed and said " the only time we did 300 mph was when we were headed for the ground"

Ya know I was thinking after I said that, there's gotta be one - the Jeep like you said. Agreed on both counts. I don't know how Jeep's reliability has been after being acquired by Chrysler. The bed of the Gladiator appears to be small.

    No leaks! :fingerscrossed:

Cooling down to be put together again. Then burp filled again.

Of course, my paranoid self reminds me I drove nearly 500 miles after the pump replace before these problems started

    OK, results!
Put LBR at the end of the drive so it's got the radiator as elevated as possible
Put the funnel and coolant in, and let it rip, heat to max
Once it hit 180*, started my timer for 20 minutes - blipping throttle once in a while. Steady at 186*, and blowing 140* out the vents (heater works!)
Switched over to max AC, reset timer for 20 more - more blips. Solid at 194* and blowing 45* out the vents (AC works)
Only a few bubble burps during this whole time. Shut it off, started 30 minute timer with the funnel and coolant still in place.
Burped the top hose several times before removing the funnel. Put the new cap on.
Ran the truck with the heat on, once hit 180* (tstat temp), let it run pressurized 10 minutes.
Switched to AC, and let it run another 10 minutes. Off
NO DANG DRIPS anywhere. Stable temps.
Around the block, then a short country loop with AC on - 194*-197*. Home and parked.
    NO DANG DRIPS.

    I think I have it!

When you see any film or old TV with fighters buzzing all around them, it's not exaggerated! Most fighters were more than twice as fast.

Nothing to do with it, but my only racing adventure to the big 1/2 mile at San Antonio was like that. Qualifying, and heats with cars like mine - WOW fastest I've ever been doing this. In the feature, leader caught me in like 4 laps on the front straight. By the time I got to the finish line, they were leaving turn 2. I wasn't going fast after that.
