    The B&M is very good and I would recommend it. No extra noise due to the isolated two piece design (that I can hear at least). I used lock tight on factory supplied/ installed bolts because I read a post about them coming out. Install is pretty straight forward. I think I had to use a 1/4 drive 10 wobble to access the front bolts or if you have a short 10 socket like a Koken z-eal that would probably work too. It will seem like the pivot bushing will not fit into the shift linkage but it will by rocking/ rotating the shifter in a 4-5" circular motion with some kind of lube.

    The only con is the 9/16 x 18 threaded rod makes finding a different shift knob difficult. The knob they send is light weight and results in a very notchy/ mechanical feel. A heavier knob will eliminate this. Too heavy of a knob will make gate to gate feel mushy and vague. The raceseng stratos seems just right to me, though pricey. My only gripe with it is the leather is not very grippy. The alcantara model would solve this but I don't want to have to worry about getting it dirty. I thought about boring and tapping my fj ball style knob to 9/16x18 but it too is pretty light weight.

    Sidenote- The overall length (not the throw) is slightly shorter than stock- I think like 1/2" shorter once installed. I cut about 5/8" off of it to shorten slightly more. The threads of the stratos extend deeper into the knob than the trd fj ball shifter which also shortens the overall length (if that's what you're into).

    I would love to use the OEM boot and knob for and OEM+ style, but with the weird knob thread I might look into something different.

    If I had any interest in retaining (anything) oem about the shifter I would think I could figure out a way to put a threaded insert in it. Anything with a shorter throw will increase the effort between throws due to the change in fulcrum (albeit slightly) and feel more mechanical. I used to like that direct "notchiness" when I was younger but now not so much. I guess what I'm saying is even if this shift lever had the correct thread pitch it's going to feel like a gated shifter with a light knob.

    The URD would work for what you trying to do.

Power pedal, injen intake system, cat delete, summit racing brake proportioning valve controlled on the fly, slightly adjusted or perhaps unrecognizable ECM, built in under bed storage, high clearance rear built with 1/4" on a 6011 1/8" rod at 120 amps, 360 degrees of led light, a PA and CB, on board air, on board propane (to cook food), on board fridge made from an old red bull fridge found on some guys man cave built into the storage cubby under the back seat, imported tranny and clutch from a good friend over in Europe to replace this aisin junk we get, combined 32 gallons fuel capacity, 18 5 gallons of water storage, built in gun locker under RTT, and all it cost was to hear the wife ramble on about upset neighbors at 2 in the morning every night since I bought that damn truck..
    If you're gonna do it, do it right.
