I suppose if you're going by the darkest timeline then the 4Runner may not happen but all signs point to a new one on the new platform in the next couple of years.

5th gen new sales are down, and continuing to trend in that direction. Same as the FJ Cruiser, I believe Toyota is asking the same question they did with the FJC, and there is no 2nd gen FJ for any market.

I think they still sell the FJ cruiser in the UAE market? Granted, not a 2nd gen FJ but they do still sell them new. See below -

I'm no expert but sales being down because a new model is on the horizon, the 5th Gen is a dinosaur, and a thirsty one at that.

If the new 4Runner is slated for the next couple years then there's already been a ton of work invested in it. The platform already exists so there's not a ton of money invested in that.

Long story short.... I can't imagine them dropping it at this point.

The FJ isn't a good reference point. Although it's a cool truck, and has a cult following, it's practicality vs the 4Runner is nil.

That's cool they also sell Hilix, LC300, and probably the LC70.

Toyota dropped the Land Cruiser in the US, I don't think it was a sales leader, and Toyota sells the Lexus GX 600 version of the new LC.

Toyota has invested money in the new midsize TGNA-F platform but if Toyota does not think those investments will pay off they won't invest more money.

TNGA-F is global, Toyota might introduce vehicles in other markets and not sell them in the US.

Toyota just invested a lot of money on the new Tundra, and the upcoming new Sequioa. Those are exclusive to NA just like the current Tacoma.

Toyota might feel confident going with those three trucks for the North American market.

It's hard to find a 4R anywhere within 250 miles of here. I don't see how sales can be down because of demand. Unless things are drastically different in other parts of the country.

There’s a shit ton of competition in the SUV market. Where I live everyone drives BMW, MB, Rovers, Porsche, etc. Lots of 4Runners too but the platform is definitely dated. There are no 4Runners on dealer lots.

Looking forward to the next gen runner. Hoping it get 25 miles to the gallon on city driving.

These numbers don't support your argument.

There aren't any 7th gens with air suspension and 35" wheels, on the road. Toyota needs to step up if they want to compete with Bronco and Grand Cherokee.

4Runner sales were down for the month of September.

Look at the sales numbers for 22 compared to 21.

With the exception of January and April 4Runner sales have dropped each month. Total number of sales for 22 are trending down.

I’m pretty sure not many people here would buy a Grand Cherokee over a 4Runner.

The 4 runner is 14 years old with almost no big changes....of course the sales will go down the final years of the generation...

Rumor has it that Toyota delayed the 4 runner release when the bronco hit the market, to make a few tweaks to the design that more directly puts in in the ring to take more Bronco and Wrangler sales percentage.

You will see a 6th gen 4 runner, and a 4th Gen Tacoma.

What are the sales numbers vs number produced, I am gonna be that the numbers produced and the numbers sold match pretty closely.
