All automatic tacos do. A good number of Toyota SUVs and trucks have the ECT feature on them. As mentioned above, it holds gears longer and higher into the power band.

I drive with mine on permanently because it makes the truck feel better. The way I like it. And don't mind the hate from the second gen guys, they can't get over the fact that they have a larger displacement engine get make less power and less miles per gallon :D

I don't hate on 3rd gens; however, you gotta know 2nd gen best gen! Its just the way of things.

Oh there will be some mods all right
A deer decided to pull a prank on me today and came flying out to the shoulder of the road so I slammed on the brakes. Then he turned away so I let off and then he immediately turned back again so I had to double slam on the brakes. Holy mother of break dive I think my skid plate almost hit the ground LOL. Can't wait to get the 6112s on.

It sits inline between the clutch master and slave cylinders and dampens the movement. It’s to prevent shock loading the drive train but it also makes the engagement weird because the clutch isn’t 100% tied to pedal movement

    Lol!

    Former? :spy:

I'm really happy with the 6112's. I wish they made matching rear shocks. Or, at least 5100's valved for heavy springs.

Sounds like something I would not want.

Here's some trivia - my 80 has the precursor to ECT, simply says PWR.

I think it makes my 0 to 60 time go from an hour to 59 minutes.

I wouldn't say that it's the precursor. My 1985 Supra had ECT. I'm trying to find a picture of what the shifter looked like on the internet. This one looks about right.

Have you ever considered mismatching brands? Like maybe some beefy Ironman4x4 foam cell pros would do great in back.

    I have!

I have considered swapping the rears for custom tuned Radflos, or Fox, or even 8112's. I think, as soon as I make up my mind :)goingcrazy:) about what my next setup is, I'll order the rears.

At the rate I'm going, I'll probably have to replace everything in a year or so anyway. I have 68K on the Bilsteins. I'm not really sure what their lifespan is. :notsure:

I've got OME front and Fox Rears, with Dakar leafs on the Puddle Jumper

Silver truck has Billy fronts and Icon rears.

But..... I would never mismatch armor. Speaking of ... There's a fall 15% off sale going on..... :D
