Big congrats to the Padres for a tough fought 5 - 3 victory over the Dodgers and tying the series 1 - 1. Bringing it back to San Diego to finish it off.padres 1.jpg

I have to leave the division to find a surrogate to root for. Then it either becomes about certain players, managers, or teams I can get behind but it’s never the same. Mostly just want to see good plays, good pitching, and good hitting but a few teams I’ll actively root against no matter the opponent.

Here's one I've been struggling with as a Giant's fan...The Astros and the Dodgers both make it to the WS. Who do you go for? :bananadead:

Since when did outfielders stop backing each other up? Was right field face deep in popcorn? All he did was belatedly trot halfway to right center. If that’s who the Braves are I’m glad they went no further. Remember when Jeter went all the way over to the first base line to nab an errant throw and shovel to Posada to nail Giambi(then with the A’s)? You hustle every chance you get on the off chance it IS necessary. A defining moment for me in 2010 was Huff apologizing for not running out a pop up. Won’t happen again he said. He meant it.

It warms my heart that Tommy Lasorda is rolling in his grave.

As a Giants fan I’ve gotta get at least one shot in, because I know if the roles were reversed doyer fans would be doing the same

On a serious note I’m shocked that Roberts wasn’t able to make it to the dance with a team that talented.

It’s the difference between the regular season and playoffs. Even great teams lose series during the season but you can’t lose even one one in October. Both teams were terrible with risp until the Padres rallied in the eighth. Still, LA never seems to ring with chemistry, just clinks with coin.

beat the margin of MLB "incompetence". Yanks have the second highest umpire influence this year, Astros 5th worst.

It happens, the unpredictable nature of baseball is what sets it apart from other sports. Not that I ever felt sorry for him but Harper has been through his share of disappointments along the way. I think Melvin will do right by you guys for a long time to come.
