For those that use fluid film or wool wax. This year I was just going to buy the spray cans instead of busting out the air compressor. Curious how many cans are needed to complete the entire frame and trailer hitch? Is a 6 pack enough?

6 should be more than enough.

Spot on. Same here with the condition of my frame. I thought it was just surface rust and was shocked when they said they were going to replace it.

Not sure why they would, but its possibly Locktite Blue 242 threadlocker. Its the more "removable" of the two types of threadlocker and still has a light bluish tint to it after it dries. Looks a bit thick for blue locktite however. Might be some Blue 242 covering something else, hard to tell.

yep unfortunately you wont know what the blue goo is until you change your oil and peel it off...hopefully not plugging a hole in the oil pan. I would doubt that, but people do some crazy things..

Living in the salt belt, that looks about normal. I would, however, dress the entire frame with a lanolin based product like fluid film or surface shield yearly from here on out.

Also, keep in mind that if you had the CRC treatment at Toyota, that frame is covered until 2025

I used about 10 but I go overboard. Just order the case of 12

10 wow bro. I've been using the gal can. Probably get 4 treatments out of it. I use a 25 dollar gravity gun from HF. I heat up the FF to a water constiticy then spray it. Never any drips, stays put.

I've been gradually moving to Blaster Surface Shield. It seems to be a bit better than FF.

Y'all get ya sum black Woolwax and don't look back. Gallon pails are cheap and it sprays real nice. Figure if it survives for me here in the Milwaukee/Chicago metroplex it should work anywhere.

Looks like my 2020 after three years in the northeast. Run the VIN, there is a service campaign for the frames and the dealer might take care of it.

I looked at that, it gets terrible reviews, everyone says it’s to thin and washes off very quickly. How many winters have you used it?

I’m curious where you’re seeing bad reviews on this stuff. I was planning on going with the surface shield so I wouldn’t mind reading some bad reviews first because so far it sounds pretty good.

This guy has some good comparison videos and a lot of good info on what makes one undercoating better than another. Would recommend watching for sure

It’s aftermarket. Taller and wider than OEM.

I was just looking on Amazon and other forums. I used FF in the reviews to search to see if there was a comparison And there were.
I have been using FF since 2014 and now woolwax. I was just curious about this new product and the ability it may have over woolwax. I think I will stick with WW.
