Burnt passenger seat on 1st day..

This sounds like the easy road to me. Buy have upholstery shop install? i'm sure they use some adhesive on the foam from the factory.

Actually, looks like this guy is cutting attachment points of some sort in the factory cover and then stapling in the new seats covers. I'd definitely have a pro do this. Side note, the leather this dealer put in looks very meh to me.

Bottle is like a perfect orb half sphere at the top.....it just caught it right i guess. Had to be the perfect distance away from the fabric for the concentrated refraction point to do its work. And the light had to be coming at perfect angle to hit it.....
Just sucks....

And costco doesnt use bags ....they use boxes and it was inside one..but the top of the bottle was above edge of the box

too much for cheap Kirkland vodka for sure. I didn’t even know this existed. I’m in backward PA. Liquor is only available in state stores. Sorry this happened. Sucks for sure.

 

Kirkland vodka is actually grey goose vodka with a kirkland label.....so cheap...yes.......but still high quality vodka........grey goose 55 for a 1.75l.......kirkland 18.99 for the same exact thing.

 

Holy hell that's some bad luck OP. Someone may have already said it as I didn't read through all 4 pages of replies.. check OEM seat covers on eBay where someone has upgraded or see if you can buy just the damaged piece from the dealer.

There are plenty of videos on YouTube of how to remove the covers (it is a pain in the ass tho, I did it to my passenger seat) or you can have an upholstery shop do it.

 

I know you're bummed, but honestly I'll take a burned seat cover (which can easily be replaced) over something like bodywork and paint.

 

You gotta punish the vodka somehow for messing up your seat!

Not only is a story odd but someone saying it's the fault of Costco and their bottles being defective that create a magnifying effect with the sun isnt odd it is a joke. It's Friday I aint buyin none of it. This is why I don't drink anymore.

It is Friday, and it's five o'cock somewhere. If someone took a pull, maybe the focal point changes enough that the seat isn't damaged...

Personally I always put bottles of stuff on the floor... Last thing I want is liquid all over my truck should they fall over (and possibly break).

 

I know you just bought the truck and maybe don’t have the extra cash right now, but this is a great excuse to get Katzkin covers. If you’re handy, you can install them yourself and there’s a member here that’s a dealer and can save you a few hundred off the cost. They fit and look amazing.

I bought a 2022 TRD Off-road about 6 weeks ago in Texas. I did not buy any extra warranties etc. Seat covers are warranted for 7 years against rips and stains. Maybe check with your dealer. Or it may just be a regional thing.

 

I had a picnic table that had some bad burns in the top from a wine glass left on it. Shit happens.
