I am looking into Tonneau covers and currently have a Tyger soft tri-fold----super happy with it for the price, but really want one that has more security.
I am looking at the Bak Revolver X4S and the Undercover Ultra Flex.
Any info on either would be greatly appreciated.

    Here we go again...

    Heres the breakdown...
50% will tell you that the MX4 is the best thing since sliced bread. Get one, so you can be cool like them.
20% will tell you DB for the win. Or they are saving up for one.
10% will tell you Lomax hard tri fold is the best bang for the buck and to contact Luke. (which you should either way)
10% will tell you Undercover Flex (some variation) is the best cuz they dont want to be lumped in with the MX4 crowd.
5% will tell you to use whatever cheapest rollup you can find on Amazon cuz its a truck bed and who cares.
5% outlier for others and margin of error....

    Sound accurate?

I did extensive research and ended up with a Bakflip MX4. The Revolver has some very questionable build quality (plastic caps that pop off, getting stuck closed when cold) and the complicated mechanism does not inspire confidence in the long-term durability. I’d say the MX4 or an Undercover are my top two picks. I just got the Bakflip since I got it new locally for $400 lol.

You can usually find OEM ones on your local marketplace for pretty cheap. Wouldn't be the most secure, but I haven't had any issues in the 5 years I've had mine.

DB SE here. If you do it, get the cleats preinstalled. I added an additional set (4) to mine post purchase after finding all kinds of stuff I can strap down to the cover. Put a chair up there at the beach for a good view.

    Lol, this is indeed accurate!

But you did leave off one important stat; 99% of tonneau cover owners will say the one they bought is the greatest thing since sliced bread no matter how much it sucks!

If you're looking for security, both of those hard tonneaus use pull cord latches, so they can be opened non-destructively with a coat hanger slipped between the tonneau and the tailgate. About 80% of trifold hard tonneaus on the market use pull cord latches. Modifications could be done to deter this attack, but typically requires drilling into the cover to install screws (F150 shown, Tacoma similar): https://www.f150forum.com/f118/tonneau-bed-cover-security-382561/

The Extang SolidFold, Tyger hard trifold, and a few other ones use clamp-style latches, so they are resistant to coat hanger attacks. Look at photos of each tonneau cover you're interested in to see which type of latches they use.

    Purchased this: https://undercoverinfo.com/undercover-elite

    For the following reasons:

-1 piece (wanted a "trunk") hardcover
-lockable (there was an attempted picking/forced entry on the lock, they were unsuccessful)
-removable (not permanent) if need be
    -waterproof (no water in bed)
-can withstand 500 lbs., has LED light and cargo hook
