2011 Tacoma Lower Control Arms

Trying to decide on having dealership replace lower control arms or looking around for something better or less money, they want $600 per side for non greasable stock Toyota arms , I already have Total Chaos uppers so maybe I should look at something along those lines?.any suggestions would be great, thanks

 

Not too bad a price if that includes installation considering each LCA runs about $285. Cheapest are made-in-China LCA’s with questionable parts. If you have the tools, you can replace the bushings and BJ’s yourself.

 

I've seen the mevotech brand LCA fail after a year of street driving, not too impressed, another set on a tundra had similar results.

The big pain with LCA is if the eccentrics are seized they have to be cut out. Adding to costs.

I'd probably go moog if I were buying LCA for my own truck.

 

Ya , im not a fan of cheapo chinese stuff, but just wondering if there is other options, Moog seems to be pretty popular, made in China as well Im sure

 

Found this interesting page, looks like Moog parts are made in several companies, from China, to Germany etc! guess its a roll of the dice, One think I like about Moog is they actually have zerk grease points, Its really just my ball joints, but apparently its all one unit, control arm and ball joints

I’d get a used set of low mileage
take offs from here from someone who went LT. OEM will last a long time just make sure you put anti size on the cams before installing.

 

Great idea but I need to get them fixed in next few days, I really like the idea of OEM but damn , $400 each side? before labor

After not much luck trying to find a non-chinese replacement I went with OEM replacement at the stealership, I mean dealership, I really liked the MOOG premium line but after ordering them from NAPA the ones they got were not what I ordered but some chinese NAPA brand, so I just bit the bullet and went with OEM

 

I recommend buying OEM and changing them out yourself. Not too difficult of a job, just have to mark those alignment cams and put them back exactly how they were before, and then take her to the alignment shop
