The Greatest 1st Gen Burnout Video Ever Made From Back In The Day

Been trying to find this video on You Tube for a very long time. This was posted way back in the day on Custom Tacos. There are not a lot of us old Custom Tacos members around anymore but if you were, maybe you remember this video. For you younger guys this was on You Tube way before it became popular and monetized. So heres a funny story about that. When I first saw the video about 10 or so years ago I spent hours on google trying to figure out what song and artist that was playing. I was at my old job one day playing the video for a coworker and another guy walks by and says "Hey, thats DJ Shadow's Organ Grinder". I spent forever trying to find out who it was and he recognized it right away.

 

Did he get the auto trans into 4th gear then just pin it?!

 

That’s my truck pretty much - do you think it was a 5speed conversion?

 

So many memories in the early 2000's trying song tapper and vague search terms to find songs.


Being an EDM head is hard when there's next to no lyrics, or the lyrics that do exist are samples from random things or other songs and trying to hum or imitate the music just gets you "Sandstorm - Darude".

Funny enough one of my favorite songs is about that exactly; "It went" by DJ S3RL it's happy hardcore.

there's an app for that: Soundhound. the app listens to the music and tells you what song it is.

 

I remember that video- It was also all over TTORA.

 

Damn it. Now I have Sandstorm stuck in my head and nostalgia hitting hard.

Haha, I remember that video from CT days. I miss CT (and TTORA), stopped going on there when they got bought out & started dying out. My very 1st set of wheels were the same as on that truck, well same style, but I didn't run the center caps..... oh as seen in my avatar pic.

 

Yeah the old CT was awesome. Good people always willing to help out. I had similar wheels on my old 2001. I believe they were Weld billet wheels that I scored on Ebay.

Yup. Been so long, I only remember barely a handful of names, none of which I have really seen active here, just mohawk Mike @mikesdoublecab. And of course anyone who was on CT is familar with Enola.

Yeah I bought my 01 to keep me out of trouble (used to be a street racer) & a vehicle that I wouldn't spend money. Well you know how that goes when modding is in your blood. I was just gonna get a cheap spacer lift but the CT guys talked me into getting Donahoes & Deavers. I still have those Hoes sitting in the garage (have Icons now). I couldn't afford the Welds back then, haha, I had the ProComps in that style. Only ran one set of tires on them though then sold em.

This reminds me of when I first joined here. TW looked nothing like it does now. Didn't come back here until way later.

CT days in Barstow.... I knew nothing about trucks & offroading back then, still don't.

Thanks for the info. I cant believe that thread was from September 2003, I was on my third deployment around that time and when I got back I picked up my first Tacoma.

 

Tell me about it. When I went to Tacoberfest... it was 15 years ago...! 3 of us made the trek down from Canada to PA... I think we stole the show . customtacos meets were a blast. We were in full canadian hockey gear and were in character as borat almost the entire weekend..



(we got yelled at by so many truckers on the CB because of the flag - it was hilarious)

didn't have anything better to do in a traffic jam. I'm sure we made someone's day.













and the infamous Jeff... CT fell apart when he sold it off.
