Good morning guys. Have a great Saturday! Yesterday ended up doing a long day and I never jumped back on here.

The tree we cut down came down just fine, unfortunately about an 8 foot piece broke out of the top as it started to fall and and hit the neighbors privacy fence. Ended up having to replace three pickets and added a new 2 x 4 below the top one as it cracked that one also. :annoyed: I’m glad we dropped it when we did before a high wind brought it down in the wrong direction.

Then I helped my son set two sections of bookcases he’s building for a floor to ceiling library wall his wife wants. He’s finishing up the last bookcase this weekend and we hope to set it in place next week.

Then it was knock the sawdust off my pants and run to town to take care of several errands there. Finally got back home about 15 minutes after my wife got home from work, then it was time o walk the dog and start the evening home routine.

I’m hoping today is much slower!

I almost bought one of those Milwaukee electric chainsaws when I was having so much problems with my gas one. I have one of the smaller Stihl saws, MS170. It’s a good saw for the small amount of tree work I need to do, the only problem can be starting it as it doesn’t have a primer bulb. One of the old mechanics finally taught me the secret to getting it started every time.

You push the choke down then pull the trigger, this lets the choke lever move agin to a “priming position”. You then pull the cord 5-7 times till it false starts- no more than 7 pulls even it you don’t hear it false start. Now click the choke lever up one click and pull till it starts. Usually only takes 1 or 2 pulls. Let it high idle about 5 seconds and hit the trigger to drop it to normal idle. Let it warm up about 15 seconds and start cutting. Since learning that trick it’s been easy, before and it was like that gif. If this gas saw ever dies I’ll get the electric one to replace it

I’ve got an MS170 as well and it’s finicky too. It’s on its second carb in 12 years :D

I had thought they were talking about quite a bit lower .

Though some have had so many face lifts it could happen or so i am told.

    Scene: I'm in the bathroom.

I hear a sound from another room.

The dread of not knowing if it was a dog toy squeaking

Or a smoke alarm battery chirping...

With an exhaust fan it should pull the smoke towards you to get a good smell.

Those Smoke Alarms went off every time I tried to cook.

PSA - Change all the batteries in your smoke detectors - usually recommend when setting clocks back but that's not for 2 weeks. Batteries are cheap life insurance.
