It was probably a bit smoother with it off and I just jacked up the drivers side to adjust the coil a bit to get rid of the taco lean and I noticed even with the sway bar the cv still was binding just enough that when you spun the wheel it would catch then pop the wheel up a tad. I'm going crazier then normal trying to figure out why mine does it when yours seems fine and it looks like we have pretty much the same setup. I am not too concerned since I don't really do a lot of crazy off road, just not crazy about knowing if I get one wheel off the ground that my axle will have a slight bind.

My UCA you might get a piece a paper to slide between it and coil with the tire off the ground

That gap seems a bit off. It is strange how people can have near identical setups and the end result can vary as much as it does. I don’t have my coils cranked up at all. But I’m going to be doing that here soon. I’m adding a full steel front bumper so that might bring the front end down a bit

I was thinking the same. I did notice that my Vertex 3.5s came from RC with more preload then yours. I might try taking some out of them and see if it changes, but I do like the amount of lift it has now though.

That’s a pretty minimal difference. Not saying that couldn’t be what’s causing your gap with the UCA or your axle bind issue… they will only droop so far though, regardless of where the height ring is adjusted to.
Side note, good tire choice!

Anyone that is running these having problems with their CV Boots? Mine keep tearing, even with boot mod, seems offroading is causing them to tear rather than from wear of rotations because the angle is so high. Planning on dropping the front .75" to alleviate the angle but im wondering if anyone has had this problem.

I would suggest high angle boots maybe. Did you drop the diff at all? RC is pushing it with 3.5”. My boots have been good but had to do boot slide, I do t off-road either

No diff drop, did do the boot slide but its still tearing unfortunately. The high angle boots I haven't been able to find a good one yet. Sadly looks like Ill have to drop the front a little, maybe find some high angle cvs and do the boot slide just to ensure. Tired of spending money to repair the boots lol.

next time they tear, try a boot that is better suited for the high angle CV. It could help

Try throwing a 1” diff drop in there as well. I had one in but removed since my boots are not rubbing, again I only use 4WD when I need it, good luck!

I'm sure you not doing the diff drop is your problem

From what I've read I don't think I want to do the diff drop. Im thinking if I drop the front .75", add the high angle CV boots and slide them, and eventually add armor to the front I should be good. I got offroad a fair chunk so I'd rather avoid the diff drop if I can.

20220922_190913.jpg I did the diff drop right after I installed my 3.5" vertex. At first i didnt want to after all i read, but the cvs were too much at angle i didn't want to risk it. The diff drop put them at a much better angle. I had to add spacers to my skid plate since the diff dropped slightly. I offroad a lot, almost every weekened I can. Haven't had a problem, and my boots are fine. I recommend you do it.

Zone 6" kit, RC Vertec coilivers, 18x12 Weld's and a set of 33" Toyo RT's. More to come soon.
I have a Zone 6" kit. As several people have stated, the 6" vertex c/o doesn't lift 6" out of the box. The drop brackets on many brand kits actually drop the lca's more than the RC kits, and this is the result. I personally chose adding 2" spacers to them (against RC recommendations) and it came out great. Factory UCA, great angles on everything, and I could adjust them up if I chose.

Looks great have better pictures of spacer added. Never knew you could do that?

That's the only other pic I have at the moment. It's a RC spacer.
