    No. But maybe yes. Firstly OEM leafs suck and are probably your biggest problem. That being said 5160s do ride comfortably but maybe valved too soft for what you are doing, so maybe you need new rear shocks too.

    Instead of doing all that you could try doing a U bolt flip first and use some different bumpstops that are more progressive. Would be the cheapest easiest thing to do without having to change major suspension stuff. Worst case it doesn't solve all your problems but now you already have the U bolt flip done for the future upgrades.

    Otherwise it's time for an aftermarket leaf pack, or maybe a good quality 3-leaf AAL (but personally I feel those are just band-aids though they are cost-effective). That'll likely give you some rear lift too which you'll have to match the shocks with. One popular configuration I've seen is an Icon RXT leaf pack with those 5160s so you can look into that.

    Sooo I am really gun shy towards adding bump stops with 5160s. On my second gen I added the Headstrong progressive three-leaf add a leaf and super bumps. It would bottom out so hard it would jar my back and I actually almost lost control and crashed once because of how hard it bottomed out. My dad said it was because of the bump stops and I told him he was crazy. A few weeks of bottoming out constantly and I decided maybe he was right and we removed them. It immediately stopped bottoming out so much so he was right and our best guess was that the shock valving did a lot of work in the last couple inches of travel and the super bumps were tricking it into thinking the bump wasn't so hard because it slowed it down just enough in that crucial last couple inches. I know it's not quite apples to apples being a third gen and no add a leaf but it still scares me lol. As to the rear leafs being junk, you are of course correct. It's a shame Toyota puts such lame leaf springs on. And speaking of being gunshy I am also gunshy to add any lift at all in the rear. I had to deal with pretty bad takeoff shudder before and don't want to deal with that again lol. Honestly I probably will end up with the icons though like you suggested.

    I completely understand everything you are saying. I'm still dealing with some take-off shudder from mine but that's my fault/laziness more than anything lol. No one-size-fits-all answer for rear suspension, depends on your wants and needs. Good thing is we have lots of options on the aftermarket.

    If you don't want to deal with lifting the rear you could always get a custom leaf pack made too. Call up Deaver, Alcan, or other leaf mfgs and I'm sure they can get you squared away.
