Re the poll, since I’ve been military and LE since forever, I could never have a beard. I’ve worn a mustache because that’s all I could have. The day after I retired the beard started, had it for a little over a year and figured out it’s work to keep it trimmed up and “wife approved  so I decided to shave it off. When I did I left a nice horseshoe, Hulk Hogan stache and the soul patch. Wife came home and said oh hell no :pout:so now I have smaller tails and no soul patch. The sacrifice for domestic tranquil high. Lol

Unfortunately, they are very simple things.. smoke is smoke to them. It's how they are cheap for the masses. It's incredibly cheap life insurance.. and incredibly silly to die in a fire because the battery was dead or the smoke detector was never installed etc.

I know.. I'm retired from the Fire Department now and my PSA duties have expired... but it's still worth mentioning to me.

Thank you for mentioning it. My dad is a retired FF and he wasn’t much of a fire prevention guy. Only thing is he would never get a live Christmas tree because of all the house fires he’s seen because of them.

Smoke detectors were sometimes chunked out the back door in the wee hours of the morning from the low battery chirps :anonymous:

The dryer was vented under the house for many years too

This will make two of the regulars happy… Wednesday I was driving between jobs and saw this massive bright green tractor with double tires and a massive disc array out back. It was making its way along the side and right lane of the road with a tail escort for oversize. The thing said “PANTHER by Caterpillar”. I looked but didn’t see the reference, but these guys. Guess they bought them?

I didn’t get a pic because I was in company van, so no dashcam to reference.
