Literally means Check Charging System. Same warning than OP, except it’s not using the same pictogram (probably because of his opened door or maybe there’s a difference between USA and Canada models). French Canada to boot. If I could test it, I’d take another photo, but the truck has been at the dealer for 5 weeks now, awaiting a new main power harness because a mouse went at it and that part is back ordered… Worse than a check charging system warning. :annoyed:

I figured it said that. I was being a wise ass. Sorry about your harness. I had 4 at the same time a couple of years ago. There was a 2 year span that there was always a vehicle torn apart everyday for a mouse issue.. They can’t keep up with demand. I actually got permission to take two harnesses and made one. Guy didn’t want to go through insurance. So all he paid for was my labor. Still a big hunk. Never found out why he was not going through insurance.
    I wish I had Alternatives for you….

I am 99.97% sure dino oil caused this error. That's why I only use synthetic oil.

What are you talking about, oil has everything to do with the charging system. Oil is the lifeblood of our vehicles.

    No worries. This happens.

My wife called me from her work parking lot last week. She had borrowed my truck and tried to start it but this warning came on. Turns out she just hadn't pushed the clutch in all the way so the ignition would only go to the run position.

No problem. I’ve been a Quaker State man since my pappy died in a fiery wreck from running Pennzoil.

I’ve never seen that. But I have the upgraded fancy push button start Tacoma. Key turners are drama queens. :D

Push button start has this message. Get in truck. Tap the start button once, then a second time (foot off brake). You’ll see the charging warning.

Yeah. I did read the manual…that’s why I panicked.
“-> Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and contact your Toyota dealer. Continuing to drive the vehicle may be dangerous.“

It'll come up too if you have a push start and you don't hold the push start long enough to get it to fully turnover
