Those starts were painful to watch. So many riders got caught up with each other

Thought A-Ray broke his hand again in that first race/start, and his first race back after injuries. They were just talking about it on Swap right before he got the call and all clears to go race Melbourne Tons of carnage again in WSX rnd 2. Glad it's over haha

ARay is glass. I was listening to that podcast on Tuesday. I'm like oh no he is not going to do well. He broke his hand again? He did a year of fixing it. Crazy. Swap podcast going to be good this week.
    Motomemes was good too.

Lol pretty much. But technically a "wildcard" rider can only do 1 round. So for him to compete there would be some hoops to jump through. Basically He would have to be "hired" by CDR Yamaha for the race. But that would piss a lot of people off.

I thought Rd 2 was ok. The racing wasn't that exciting. The track seemed cool but it just didn't race well at all. I dunno, this series has some things to figure out, in my opinion. Not hating but they are taking aim at Feld / MX Sports and trying to claim it as a prestigious series. So I'm holding it to a high standard if that's their goal/claim. It's a decent start. If they can tweak a few things then maybe the full series will be decent, next year. I personally don't see the series surviving. I have my own reasons that I won't bore you guys with but from the business side, it's going to be tough. But in theory, I like the idea of the series.

I'm saying I personally thought he broke it in that first race crash, the way he was hunched over and holding it.
I like the dude even if he's injury prone. That meme is hilarious though

I saw that too. I'm like please don't be hurt. I like the kid. I feel emotionally invested in him now. It sounds like he didn't get hurt besides a few scratches based on his IG.

Wild racing. It's almost hard to watch. Every vet rider must have been taken out after these 2 rounds

His insta was a soft tease today. He could stick with redbull and have his wsx. Excited for more riding clips. These 23s are hot.

Don't get me wrong, I really like Clubmx. But if Kenny can't swallow his pride and get with a factory team he needs to hang it up, cause ClubMx isn't the answer imo.

I don't think Roczen's been the same since his wrist injury. Last season he seemed to run out of energy pretty quick in the races and/or lacked the motivation.
He looked on point at red bull straight rhythm though and he's definitely got the talent. I don't know much about ClubMX, but this might be a good fit for him to get some podiums and get back in the groove.

Hard to say if it is injury or bike setup. Probably a little of both. Curious who he signs with for 23 SX. Be nice if he can land a factory ride. Hard to say if he is a top 5 guy anymore for SX. He does great in MX though. Better have a bike in the next few weeks so he gets a good 4-6 weeks of practice before A1.

It seems like factory teams don't like WSX.

ClubMX is 1 of the few satelitte teams that has Factory support. So if he goes there, he could still get Factory parts and potentially earn win/podium bonus money straight from Yamaha. Also, they don't care about personal sponsors, so he can do his own thing. And on top of that, he could ride for them in WSX, if he chooses. So really that is the best scenario for him. He tried to stay with Firepower Honda (which the owner also owns the team he rode for at WSX) and have Factory Honda supply his bikes and pay him bonus money and Honda said no. So at that point, Firepower can't afford him and isn't able to give him adequate bikes w/o outside help from Factory Honda. So his choices are limited. The main Factory rosters are pretty full. I would've though KTM or Gasgas would've tried to make room for him but it's not looking like that will happen. Also, keep in mind if he does want to do WSX instead of Nationals, no US-based Factory team is going to let him do that. That's why the drama with Honda happened in the first place. So to me, ClubMX is probably the perfect spot, unless he works something out with Mitch at Pro Circuit with Kawis. But he may have to drop Redbull to make that work.

What's the value of WSX in 2023, though? The championship was x2 races and gave the guys some fun money this year. Making a career move based on a 2 race series consisting of 1/2 the global talent is absolutely a poor decision. Again, I like Clubmx, but there's no way it's the same as riding for a factory - mainly resources outside of parts availability. 100% agree with you about KTM and Gasgas, though. That's where my head has been this whole time, in that one of them needs to pick him up, namely gasgas.

Everyone has there opinion and I def always respect yours. I just don't think this is the best option for Kenny if he goes for it. I'd rather see him go on his own before he settles on a factory-backed sattelite team.

You are correct, Club is down on resources compared to Star or any of the main Factory teams. I was just saying that since it looks like KR might not be getting picked up by a US-based Factory Team, Club would be the next best option. Kenny made his bed when he signed on to be the "guy" for WSX. That's what halted his Honda contract and what will keep a US team from signing him. He said he wanted to do a few more years in the US doing SX and Nationals though, which is confusing. But it appears he still wants to move forward with the WSX series. WSX pays him up front money, so before he even leaves the gate he makes good $ just for showing up. I'm sure they are doing that again next year for their full series (which keeps going down in the number of rounds. Right now they are talking 6-8, where initially it was 10-12.) So that's the dilemma. If he is set on doing WSX he pretty much kills any opportunity to be on a US Full Factory team, it seems. I agree, I would've just stayed here and signed somewhere to do SX and Nationals, if I were him, even if Honda didn't want to resign him. I think he could've made it work on a good team.

But since WSX is apparently part of his plans, then that's why I say Club is the best option. Right now with the guys that they have (including JMart) they run motors from Twisted Development and run the same KYB/Enzo air fork that Star uses. And Yamaha helps the team with some things. If KR would sign w them, being his status, Yamaha may even agree to give him some full-factory parts and also pay him bonus money. That would be huge for him. And then he can also race WSX. So if that's his plan, it makes sense. Not saying I would've done it that way, because I agree with you. I don't see WSX to be worth it, if he still wants to race here. But that's his choice, I guess lol.

Well explained buddy. Really like your thought on Kenny being able to use his swing to possibly even improve a team like Club, too.

Whatta time to be alive. He looked like a newborn giraffe trying to walk on that Yami in his Instagram posts lol. Just can't accept it myself yet
