Welcome to TW and congratulations on your lighting downgrade. Not only will you not be able to see much of anything except directly in front of you, you'll be blinding oncoming drivers with the glare they produce. Worse yet, I see you're from Ontario - where you get snow. Just wait until you see what 6,000k light does in a snowstorm. You might want to read this:

Great... Another PnP LED guy on the road. Do your research people. You can already see the glare to oncoming traffic it is creating just from this picture. I can't imagine what the beam pattern looks like up against a wall.

I've got just the set up for people like this. Morimoto MLED 2.0 projectors and two pairs of diode dynamics SS3 driving max mounted up at the ditch location and a pair of pro combos in the bumper! Hahah basically the sun. Works really well for those driving with high beams on too. They can't turn them off fast enough. Then the other pair in the bumper is some amber fogs and then a set of pro combos in the rear bumper (mainly for setting up camp at night or hanging out, but does work well for the occasional tail gater)

If you dwell on every little detail you’ll never get anything done lol.

I read this one already but there’s also tons of great reviews and people in this forum with those headlights without any problems.

This is my work truck my daily is a Panamera Gts.

Now if you have experience with these trucks and it seems you do. I’d encourage you to be more encouraging towards new members like myself instead of turning it into a showboat competition.

    cheers

Sorry if you took what was intended as solid, scientific advice based on cold, hard data (@crashnburn80 posts) the wrong way. As for many people liking the Morimoto lights, remember, crash very much liked the high beams, but had issues with the low beams, the poorly designed adjustment system, the color temperature and their overall build quality. If you want to ignore that advice, that's your option. And remember, there are lots of people with drop-in LED bulbs in their headlights that think they're awesome, but science would prove them dead wrong - if they were willing to actually listen.

As for bashing a new member, one thing you might want to know about TW is that we have a very dedicated group of true lighting enthusiasts here who truly know their stuff. We also have one of the world's leading experts in automotive lighting (crashnburn80) who regularly provides solid input along with representatives from several leading lighting companies. And none of the reputable lighting companies offers drop in LED lights anymore due to pressure from the US government to get this type of product off the market.

As for constructive advice, I absolutely endorse the Ultimate Headlight Upgrade - which totally blows away the Morimotos on every count - especially bang for the buck. I had it in my 2014 Tacoma and never in my over 50 years of experimenting with upgraded lighting have I never found a better mod.

FWIW, despite that being a very popular a popular one, I don't always agree with the conclusions made or quality of data given in that thread. It's definitely got a lot of information, but it's not the end all and I would take it with a grain of salt.

Nick, to be honest, your original post didn't have any text and there was no explanation of how the image related to the thread title. The image shows lens flare (sort of like just about every scene in J.J. Abrams's Star Trek Into Darkness). It wasn't clear if you posted that photo to be pro- or anti-LED conversion into incandescent reflectors, and there's no indication that it's your vehicle.

So -- seriously -- welcome to TW, and welcome to one of the more contentious topics on any forum or thread involving vehicle lighting. You picked a toughie to get started on...

World's leading experts publish scientific papers and are actively engaged in their field of expertise and influence public policy - not sure being a social media poster qualifies for "world" expert standing. How do people come up with this stuff.

If you stay around here long enough, for other than the entertainment value, you will find this place can be as brutal and as generally welcoming, whether it's your first or hundredth post

I'm just shouting at the moon.

In the topic of lighting and LED. Yesterday morning I watched the vehicle in front of me LED auto high beam chase a deer out of a farm and directly in the path of their vehicle. They had enough distance to tap the brakes and not make contact with the deer.

Turn of those auto high beams if you can.

Was it actually the auto high beams that did it? IDK for sure. I have seen low beam light beams chase animals in to the path of moving vehicles. Flashing lights really seem to get the deer excited.

There's the possibility it could have been the turn indicators that spooked the deer. Maybe it was running that direction before the traffic made the turn on to the road.

I think it was the highbeams lighting up the area above the road and the upward/outward HB patterns combined with AHB cycling on/off.

You could see the sun lighting up the horizon there really would be no reason to use HB in those conditions, but the vehicles do not recognize that.

    I’m with ya man.
It’s unbelievable how so many guys on this forum don’t read anything. For $150 or less you can have the best light setup for the second gen headlights bar none but to each their own. Waste your money on LED bulbs or crappy morimoto/alpharex junk chinese crap.

As unbelievable, is how many believe some of the stuff they read....It's the internet man! People can represent themselves to be anything they want others to think they are. They can write whatever they want. They can express opinions, rumors, innuendo and even "lies" as fact. It's the wise man who knows what he doesn't know, and a post on social media doesn't make it so.... Even a picture used to be worth a thousand words, until Photo Shop - LOL

We get it man. nothing in this world is true or fact. Gotcha. Everything on the internet is fake. Gotcha. I’ll base my own opinions on real world experience like the ultimate headlight upgrade.
