How do you even do that, I took the doff out of my 4 runner only to see a closed carrier... you need to take the carrier off the ring to expose the parts you weld?

Unbolt it, take the cross pins out, remove the spiders that don't contact the axle shafts. Weld 360° around the remaining two spiders to the carrier walls. You have now welded a Toyota V6 third and made it a lightweight model.

I fell for some round taillights on a white sports car for a couple of minutes on the way home yesterday.

I pull up behind a white car with round taillights that looks Italian. It also had a yellow badge in the center. What was that?

Somebody modded their Mustang to give a Ferarri look. I fell for it until I could see the side.

The axle shafts don't need to locate the spiders?

I didn't try that because I figured the spiders wouldn't locate themselves

Doesn't welding the diff also wear out your tires in like 5k miles?

I always liked that color on a Subaru, but every Monster drinking Kyle had one out here.

That said, I miss driving my old roommate's hawkeye subie. We lived together when I had 2 motorcycles and whenever he'd fly out to see family, he let me borrow his car. Also borrowed it when we'd take turns getting groceries and whatnot.

Most of those Kyles have wrecked their Subies by now, so the nice stock ones are really sought after.

I’ve seen a lot of imported ones for sale in Marketplace. I really want an Outback Sport Wagon like we had when I was in high school.

I’d also love another 2.2 Camry wagon like I had in Australia. Gorgeous cars!

Cars so beautiful and functional back in the 90s and early 2000s.

@01x4 and I had this discussion too recently

I'd get a two tone, manual Outback just to drive around if I found one in decent shape.

Snapped this pic a few weeks ago.

    20221007_140004.jpg

Nothing special other than a fun driving, roomy vehicle.

Man, the other sideline ops were warning me to pay attention because you’ll get mowed down if you’re not. I saw 17 barreling towards me, that’s why I took that stance haha.

One of the guys I paddle with has one of these, it’s a fun little car and very practical. Manual transmission too.

Is he looking to sell it by chance?

Haha they’re also by far the most reliable car Subaru ever made. The EJ22 lacks the head gasket and rod knock issues that plagued the EJ25, and the electronics are simple enough not to cause too many headaches like on the newer ones.
