I guess so, it's weird cause it's deep under the dirt and not a connector that failed, the pipe itself just split. Blew a big chunk of dirt out lol. Might just be all that pressure eventually split the plastic

I mean you only want so much pressure running through it, and it's not like most cities have a lot to provide residential areas anyway.

I'll have to look at the gauge but we got one near the shut off valve at the front of the house.

SCH40 at 2" should handle well over 280psi and most homes don't have more than 50psi going in.

Probably age + cooler temperatures lead to failure.

 

New houses are regulated at the street level but many old houses like mine have no street pressure regulator. I regularly get up over 80psi here. I know Ryan has said before the house he is in is quite old.

Very true, especially due to "efficiency" regulations recently put in place, but even then I wouldn't expect over 100psi going to his sprinklers

 

Depends how long ago it was installed and who installed it. I have a backflow preventer on my sprinklers but no regulator. They get whatever the house gets.

I miss those little guys from living in Arizona and California. They're usually so chill and they do funny shit when they're hunting. I used to catch em and stick em on my shirt. My high score was three before any of them jumped off.

 

Even Bronx watches them when he sits outside

Cool to see a lot of babies, but also some big ones in the backyard. Tells me they're making a living off all the bugs cause aside from a mosquito or fly (from constantly letting the dogs in/out) we have no bugs at all coming inside.

Even the garage is free and clear of any except the occasional mosquito at night if I open the outside door/garage.

 

That's good, in AZ the lizards don't fuck with the scorpions and cicadas so I always had tons of those. But they took care of the beetles, brown roaches, and tiny flies.
