I drove a 1998 Tacoma and it felt a lot better than mine, no swaying , no road wander, no steering wheel play, no shimming of the steering, I am going to get to the bottom of it, I move my steering wheel back and forth and the spleen at the rack does not move, so there is something for sure wrong with the column of universal or shaft before it gets into the steering rack, this may not FIX all but I am going to look into it, there should NOT be that much movement.

The sidewalls aren't giving you recommended pressures, they are giving you maximum pressures. You may have other issues, but you are absolutely running your tires too high and you will feel that. I'd chalk test and then once the pressures are sorted see how everything feels.

If it’s just a crappy ride, that’s a combination of crap shocks, to much tire pressure and those big wheels with small tires causing small sidewalls. All that on its own will create a crap ride and your compounding it adding them all together. A poor alignment can also cause screwy handling so definitely make sure you get that checked.

Did you get an alignment after having the front end back together. Things can feel real messed up when the truck isn't aligned

I did not want to get the alignment until I fix that steering wheel play, but I may do it and then see how it rides, i have to try the process of elimination and see, one of my tires was on 42 Psi took those down to 32 Psi and see if that helps as well

Theres no dust shields behind your rotors.
Lower your tire pressures to 30ish
    Get bilstein shocks.

    Yep.

Alignmet alone can cause his issues but combine heavy wheels with what are almost certainly junk shocks and it's a recipe for disaster.

OP, return those shocks and get a proper and GOOD alignment.

Id check to make sure your sway bar doesn't have any play. Tacomas are not a soft ride even when everything is as it should be.

I would consider a lifetime alignment from your local Firestone shop. That way you don’t have to be paying every time you swap a suspension component out.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
40 psi? It should ride like a dump truck. Try 29 psi
