Swimming also allows me to enter into relaxing mode with the focus on breathing, or a mediation if you will. I think about life when swimming. Family, friends, work, bills, mistakes, successes, goals ect. I can figure things out when I swim, like a coping mechanism for life.

Enough with all the philosophical BS, I'm done.

Went for a lovely hike this morning and on my way back heard some stomping around in the rocks. Figured I’d look up to see a goat or deer.

Nope momma bear and her two cubs.

My heart dropped when I saw the first bear I saw was a cub. But momma really didn’t give a shit. Kept my distance and they just walked away. They were looking for trash people leave in the camp bathrooms.

The depression and terror would have come across better in b&w.

my lady & I had a bear come very close to us while we were sunbathing on the shore of lake mary last year. The year before that we were hammocking close to the same area near a stream and a black bear crossed the stream right next to us. I followed it for a bit(not a smart idea) and observed it. Took a quick photo and decided to back off.

Not the biggest bear I’ve seen but not the smallest either.

Funny you say that. I was in Mammoth Lakes today. Gorgeous area.

Lots of bears in Cali. I knew to be on the lookout and glad I was.

Aight y’all, I’m big on using pre workout or and energy drink before the workouts on days I want to prioritize. So for right now: Legs.

i ran out of bang energy in a case that I got as a apartment warming gift

what’s y’all’s go to for getting 250-350 mg of caffeine in before your workout that’s cost effective.

If I don’t think of something super cost effective I’m just gonna buy myself another tub of Woke Af. Used to use it. I’m just cheap lol

I don't do quite that much caffeine but use 6 gm of citrulline malate and (occasionally) a 200mg cap about an hour beforehand...

Nutricost sells a 500 cap bottle for a little less than $20 and Bulk Supplements has a kilo of CM for around $35. That's a lot of servings for 55-60 bucks...

10mg Ritalin does the trick for me.

I’ll drink a half a bottle of Vitamin Water pictured below about 30mins prior to the gym sometimes. All that other stuff isn’t for me.

A little bump of the booger sugar & cialis does the trick.
Kidding aside, I rarely use preworkout. Shit always has way to much caffeine or is to expensive.

Agreed. I think a fucked up sleep cycle is more detrimental to a workout to me.

Coffee, banana, and almond butter is my daily breakfast. Gets me through most workouts unless the drive out to the trailhead is more than an hour, then I'll usually tag another coffee and maybe a carby power bar like a Clif or something similar. This gets me to the top of the mountain. Should be able to get you through a gym workout. Get it!!

Anyone give the keto/low carb diet a try?

I've found it hugely beneficial, if a little trying at times. Maybe a little more energy overall but, much more noticeable for me, is how steady my energy level is throughout the day. And getting hungry is much more tolerable, i.e. I don't feel ravenous like I often do while "carbing". I do miss the occasional 6-10.5 Krispy Kreme doughnut binge though...

I’m keto most of the time with the exception of beer which I try to limit to a couple a week.

I really prefer it. I feel way better. Carbs are inflammatory and it helps my autoimmune issues.

At the height of my training and of course races I’m eating so much junk to fuel (donuts, oreos, chips, muffins, coke etc). Usually post race I’m ready to give up all carbs for awhile.

I know a lot of people in the endurance world have passionate feelings on this but I do think it helps fat adaption/fat burning for endurance events.

Have any of you guys heard of this fad called jogging? I believe it's 'jogging' or 'yogging.' it might be a soft j… I'm not sure but apparently you just run for an extended period of time. It's supposed to be wild.

Is that where you buy expensive clothes, tell your friends about your plan, and do no actual physical activity?

    Yes!
Did me a yog this afternoon in the woods with my man and a couple friends.

No thats not how we do it. We buy expensive clothes, stumble through the woods for a couple hours then head back to the car for a cooler full of beer and hard liquor and break out the lawn chairs and toons.

    Its quite fun.
