I could lean my little CRF230, running Shinko 705's, through tight turns faster than I could my F4i. So flickable! Just sucked getting to and from the "fun" roads...

It takes a certain type of personality to post everything you do on a YouTube channel and I for one don’t have that personality :anonymous: would much rather post what I do in a motorcycle thread on a Tacoma forum :fistbump:

I totally agree bud. Sometimes I overthink what I share here and it’s just a truck forum…but this is my only social media.

One of my fav things to do was hunt down groups of sport bike riders in the Malibu hills. We have a wide range of canyon roads that go from super tight and low speed to wide open sweepers. Passing a sport biker fully leaned into a corner while one foot out and one hand on the bar the other giving a Shaka as I pass is the best. I have YouTube videos I posted years ago of my hunting trips on Latigo canyon, stunt, mulholland etc. Can’t beat a super moto on those tight roads with and even more so on the shitty paved ones. But commuting to another riding area was torture if it was more than 30 min. I got a Corbin seat which helped but still, single cylinder thumpers have their place.

Anyone ever been overcharged for a shop doing some work on your bike that you didn't ok? The quote I received is nearly 1/4 what they told me it would be

If you didn’t ok it, I wouldn’t be paying for it, sounds kinda shady, unless you’ve worked with this shop before, and they were looking out for your safety, but still should of called you. I’d be having a nice conversation with them about it, that’s for damn sure.

Agreed! It seems like an honest and competent shop could make a mint these days after building up a good rep.

Weren't you given a work order to sign off on when you dropped off the bike spelling out what was being done? I had 16 years working part time for a dealership and all customers signed off on a repair order that outlined what work was being done. Customer always had a quote of what the repairs should run and in cases where we wouldn't know the full damage until things were torn down there was always a "not to exceed" number on that estimate. If we got into it and found it couldn't be done at that price the customer was always contacted, photos were sent, long detailed explanations of any additional work and parts, etc.

Not saying your shop did anything wrong but any reputable shop I've ever been exposed to tries hard not to be in situations like you're describing.

What was the work you brought it in for, and what was the work they added on?

I think some states have a law where if it exceeds the quote by x amount they have to call, I know mine does.

Where are you located? I want to stay away from them. We have a shop around Charlotte that would pull that shit.
