Didn't look at the link but if you don't have a pump, get it in the bags. 1000x easier. Especially the front diff.

Also I'm not going to advise reuse of hardware but I will just say that a new crush washer is the Toyota maintenance routine. Many have done a successful oil change with reusing the washers. :spy:

Yeah they really should change that...though I'm sure there's also somebody somewhere wondering why their Google search took them to a muffler shop

Lou's in Brockton just replaced part of the main pipe in mine...about an hour or less, $150, sounds fine.

Haha..the original exhaust in my truck lasted longer than the original frame.

She’s still acting herself, just a bit more licking to soothe.

There was a snaggle before when it first happened but it’s broken off so now that tooth is just shorter but I think some dentin or something is exposed so I still want it out.

Just very grateful she still seems playful, crazy self.

Agreed on both......I have the pump anyway but yes, the bags are 100% better.....unfortunately they are more expensive and harder to find. You are also correct in the crush washer aspect. I have reused them in the past but it is best to make sure that people know the proper way of doing it and the things that they will need to do it the proper way first and then make their own determination afterwards. It all honesty, if a person does reuse one and it happens to fail....bye bye diff....it is also making sure that the plugs are also properly torqued as well.

Fair dues. I have a TQ wrench that I used for the rear. I haven't done front and centers on this truck yet, but done them in the past on others. THAT'S where the bags come in handy. I've been able to find the bags at walmart.

I'm not picky with oils. If it's the right synth/non, and it's the right weight, I just let it ride. Walmart brand or NASA. It does what it needs to do either way. Same with my engine oil. I run walmart oil if that's what's available. If not, I grab whatever oil is 0-20 and in stock. I typically use the Toyota filters just because (also at walmart) they usually only have 2 OEM branded Toyota filters, and it's the smaller one. 1-2$ more, but don't have to spend any time finding the Wix/Fram part numbers, then hunting through the shelves to find them. :D

When I did my wife's CVT I used WS, for my truck I'll probably just use valvoline or whatever is available. There's a decent thread somewhere showing the alternatives and their suitability, I think it was the Valvoline that comes in good. I'll check before I actually do it though.

Side note. My town takes spent oil, it's just a big igloo. No difference between gear oil and engine oil. But, no ATF/other fluids. I think some of the Vato zones take spent ATF, I have to get rid of some I've just ignored it for so long

They are usually "press fit" onto the bolt and don't come off the bolts. If it's not there, then it sounds like they missed it

So. Am I to assume there is no one cracking their pumpkins to drain the fluids? Just sucking out the oil ?

Theres a drain plug and a fill plug on both the front and rear diffs, and the xfer case.

NO problem sir.......even if you wanted to just come down on Nov 6th to check out what we normally do that might be cool as well. If not, we will be starting the mod meets back up in the spring and we can do you diff's and other fluids then.
