expert opinion on steep cv angles needed

    How bad are my cv angles? Am I risking damage by driving with them like this? And what kind of damage would that be?

    I am looking for people who have had coilovers set at about 3.5" and have had problems or you haven't had problems. I would like responses from people with personal experience who had cv angles similar to these.

    These angles come after installing my OME 885s with 1/2" top spacer - I'm estimating it at about 3.5".

    the boot is gonna rip dirt will get inside and mess up the shafts costing $$$ to fix, just avoid the problem by lowering it an 1" or more. You probably have little down travel also.

    When I first put my toytec lift I got 3.25" lift, thought it was cool till I ripped the boots I drive through sand so it was a priority to fix. Now I lowered it to 2" just run big tires to make up somewhat.

    That's definitely too high.

    What are your hub to fender measurements? 3" lift is 23 to 23.5" hub to fender.

    Also, just FYI, it's the inner boot you have to watch the angle on more than the outer boot.

    Finally! Someone who actually ripped a boot - that's what I was looking for. I'm definitely considering lowering them now.

    My center hub to fender is almost 25". However, I have my fender flares removed so that probably adds about .5"

    So why do they make the top plate spacers to go with these coils if it's just going to lead to damage? - prerunners?


    and I was hopping the Relentless bumper and winch which added about 150 lbs would help it settle more. But it hasnt seemed to do much at all yet. Should I expect it to settle more?

    Flares off, also you have a lighter truck overall, aluminum bumper, all on 885 springs. I imagine they're going to settle less over time. Whatever the reason, you're definitely higher than 3", though that may change with time.

    It'll settle more as you continue to wheel the piss out of it.
