Not in my part of BC last October. If I hadn't gone for the truck I did in August 2021, received October 2021, I would have waited until March 2022 for a truck.

LOL, I didn't say I didn't wait, my point was I was able to find a Tacoma to test drive; that said, the Tacoma I wanted and the Tacomas which were available were very different animals. In the end I put a deposit down on a Tacoma in February and I took delivery of it last Tuesday.

If I had to do it over again I'd get an SR V6. The tech, moonroof, jbl isn't worth what they charge. As for availability they are kinda screwing us, Covid was part of it but I think that automakers have realized they can produce fewer cars -> induce scarcity -> sell for MSRP vs the old days when they had tons on the lot, take your pick, we'll beat any price etc etc.

After driving a total of about 250 miles over the last week in my new Tacoma, if I had to do it all over again I would do exactly as I did; I'm so glad I held out for a fully tarted up TRD Sport 6MT. Regarding the JBL, those of us with three pedals under the dash, regardless of trim level, do not have the option of the "higher end" audio system. :)

I was more speaking toward the skids, sliders, etc. Upgrade for me just means improving the function. I understand your reasoning though.

They should put a cassette player in there to make the manual shifting crowd feel more at home.

Too funny; yeah, upon occasion I have shifted like that; my 1970 Challenger had a New Process 4-Speed with a Hurst Super Shifter II and a 3500 pound Borg & Beck clutch system, and each full throttle/red-line shift was, ummm, lets say, a bit harsh.

I got the pro taco because money wasnt an object and i hate looking at blanked out switches on lower buck versions.

To me having power and heated driver seat (pass is heatedbut no power)
The leather, sunroof, bsm and the other goodies sold me.
I would look into the 4 runner though if i were you.

LOL, you don't need to buy a Pro to get a Tacoma sans the blanked out switches. In fact, if you have a TRD Pro Automatic, don't you have a blanked out switch where the Clutch Cancel button resides for those of us with 3 pedals under the dash.

With the above said, I am not even remotely advocating you should have purchased a TRD Off Road; to me the two are so close in price, if you find a Pro you like, go for it.

    @Horseshoez

There were plenty of SR5s on the lot in mid April 2021 for me to test drive before I received my TRD Sport on May 14, 2021.

I can't remember the model type but the suspension felt like what's on the Sport.

Ahhh, apparently you have an automatic transmission; my non-TRD Pro looks like this (as you can see, the only button "missing" is the "ETC PWR" button which is available on automatics only). Said another way, having all buttons active and not blanked out is impossible, but having all but one is easily possible, regardless of whether you have a Pro or not.

My 2022 OR has all of the button spots filled in from the dealer. It does have the factory alarm with breakage sensor in one of the spots on the left side of the steering wheel. It is rare, but not impossible to have all the buttons not blanked out.

My comments were relative to the factory options; if a dealer opts to fill the Clutch Cancel or the ECT PWR button with a glass breakage sensor, that's a different discussion. :)

    Exactly.
When I went to purchase my Tacoma in 2020 a TRD Offroad with tech package was less than 3K below a TRD Pro. And when I got done negotiating, I purchased my 48K Pro for 46.5K ‍

There is so much more stuff on a Pro than just suspension it’s ridiculous. It’s like a limited and a Offroad merged into one truck

Pics are of the price of a Offroad with tech package $44,375

I paid $46,500 for my Pro….$48,019 was sticker attached
