Got pretty much everything I have two of crossed hoping Kevin's ready to go this weekend. I'd love to get this thing armored up for Windrock...and we're close...so close...

All in all though, I'm pretty happy with the progress since last Sept  ...guess I got a burr under my saddle...

Well it's still in alot of different pieces, and I mean everything is. But should have it all together and ready. I'm just hoping we manage to get it all installed in a day. lol

Had another guy up today from Charlotte to install a wrap around.

I'll put the skids at lowest priority...I can always take those with me and bolt 'em on.

Main things I'd like to get done is the stuff involving welding and cutting.

Thanks for busting your ass on this BTW...thems awesome customer service :D

    No prob.

I should have the skids welded up tomorrow and gonna do some more work on the sliders as well. The bumper should only take another good day to finish up (I hope). The biggest thing is getting stuff done in time to shoot some paint and have it dry before you get here. Let this be a early notice, all the paint will be extremely fresh and soft. :D

Paintwise I see a lot of rattle cans in the future of it. I'm not really concerned about paint durability.....easy to touch up is more a priority for me.

Worse comes to worst, we can be installing some shit while other shit is drying.

I've got the whole weekend free if that extra day helps, but I dunno what your schedule is like.

Well I will be leaving an extra day just in case.. Hopefully won't need it though.

Rear bumper takes about 3 hours total to install.
Skids don't take very long to throw on, let's say 1 hr to be gracious.
The sliders will be the catch since they are the first set and I want to verify some stuff before I throw on the final welds, but once they are ready and we know they fit right lets say 2 hrs to clean the frame, weld on and paint the legs.

Yeah it's gonna be a full day for sure. What time you want me there? I can essentially be at it as early on Saturday as you want.

Honestly, they're gonna be a lot like yours. Hybrid, weld-on, no kickout, DOM.

ToMoCo actually offered two types, the standard alloy I have and another with a deeper gray finish that's a little shinier called hyper silver. I may end up having to paint mine as I keep tearing em up at a damn good pace.

    And thanks :)

I paid $100 to have everything from the cats back redone and supplied them with my own flowmaster to put in.

Oh shut up! Talking about a skid that you already have, the one you stole off my truck that I'm finally replacing.

Also note that mine dumps right after the muffler so it didn't require as much pipe or labor as it would if you run it back past the axle.

Generally speaking, cheaper to have a shop do it. But you want to check out your shop and make sure they're the right shop. I had to look at about 5 different places before finally stumbling on the one I let do the work. I'm picky who I give my money to.

With labor they wanted $290, now that's with high-gauge aluminized steel that bends and welds better than stainless and has pretty much the same corrosion resistance. They also up-sized my pipe to 2.25" from the stock 1.75".

I tipped them a bit more than that because I was so happy with the work. The fabricator and I sat and talked for 15 minutes with the truck on the lift about what I wanted done, where I might go in the future, and the best way to achieve what I wanted and leave my options open. THAT kind of service and attention to detail is how I knew I'd found the right place.

Around here, you might be able to do a bit better than that pricewise, but my policy since day 1 with this truck has been to focus on quality work above other considerations. YMMV out your way.

I did the same. Best part: Once I relocate the spare to a forthcoming bed rack, I'll be having them re-weld the tip from the TRD catback onto the dump. Don't wanna lose my bling factor! :D
