If it was me, I tell those idiots that 'I find a business elsewhere if they don't replace them with compressed air'.

It is so damn easy to take them out and put compressed air in. It shouldn't take long...

If you plan to get new tires, then don't worry about it and take the truck to tire shop and those will be gone and you will have great truck with new tires filled with compressed air. I know you will lose money for nitrogen at tire shop but you will eventually get money back in the future when you plan to sell your truck...

Most places around here fill the compressed air in tires for free.. Except those places that have compressed air machines that you put coins in.

That is one of the most unbelievable uncharges I've heard of yet! $300 can buy new TPMS sensors. TPMS sensors do not need nitrogen to operate. (It's a government required safety/energy feature - they don't require special air) I also see this as a real sign of the character of the business you're working with and suggest walking. it's clear that they have no limit to rob a customer. If they're willing to write a charge like that down, who knows that BS they have pulled behind closed doors.
It may be hard because you've invested energy and emotion into this deal but sure as hell don't pay that $300.

I, an average person off the street, could rent a 200CF cylinder from Airgas for less than $300, which would fill approximately 1700 tires.

That's a bigger markup than the soda machine, or it would be if Nitrogen wasn't a total scam in the first place. I'd threaten to walk over it.

Yeah, it's definitely nonsense, and I plan to put up a fight about the $300 but in the end I can't let it be a dealbreaker, because I was fortunate enough to find a TRD Pro with 450 miles on it so I can skip the 1-2 year wait on a new one. Sucks coming from a position of desperation but it is what it is.

Take the truck but don’t pay off the last $300, 10 years later when they ask tell them the nitrogen escaped when the tires were replaced.

1-2 year wait? Where are you located? I see 1-2 Pro's come available(not presold) every couple weeks at dealerships here in the Phoenix area.

Northeastern US. I've talked to 5 or 6 dealerships from NYC to Vermont and everywhere in between and they have all indicated the same thing -- that Pro's have the longest expected wait of any Tacoma model of up to 18-24 months. I know of quite a few folks around here who have been waiting a long time so far.

Not to mention the typical "market adjustment" of $5000-7500 over MSRP that dealers around here have been applying. At least buying a used pre-owned skirts around that.

Ask them how they purged all the "bad" atmosphere out before filling with 100% nitrogen?

Earlier this year when I was looking for my truck, a dealership in California tacked on $1,000 for lifetime nitrogen. Needless to say I didn’t buy from them.

Then dealership guys and salesman bitch and complain because people walk in with a bad attitude and distrust them. They never seem to acknowledge this kind of stuff is the reason why.
