I would say "stay on long flat straight roads without many obstacles" and definitely stay away from anything over 3 feet tall without a ramp...:)

Short box all the way...long bed trucks remind me of old men. You can always tell an old man's truck. They usually have a long bed with an extended cab and step sides hah no offense long bed owners.

Having it lifted helps. I only have a 3" lift, but also I have 305/70/16 tires which are 33+"s. You have to watch that you don't follow those jeeps up over hills because you will hit center if your not careful. I'm hoping for sliders soon. Also watch out for your angles. You don't want to go over a big rock only to have it hit the rear bumper or side panels.

I drive a short bed, but my vote is for the long beds. If you can't park a long bed, turn in your man card now.

The only reason I have the short bed is because I wanted a double cab with a manual transmission.

This is precisely the dilemma that has kept me on the fence for quite some time. I agree with both sides of the argument here, but here's the deal:

I currently drive a Tundra DC, which has a 6.5 ft bed with a pretty decent turning radius (not exactly sure what it is). I love the Tacoma DC, but also don't see how I could give up 1.5 ft of bed. Which kinda sucks b/c I like the idea of better maneuverability with the SB. All things considered, I should probably go with the access cab since 90% of the time I won't have more than 2 people riding, but I'm American and I want my cake and I want to eat it too. Therefore I'm leaning towards the DCLB...after all, is a 3.7' (or 8.1%) increase in turning radius enough for the average driver to even notice? Thoughts?

    A few bolts are different.
My DC LB turns like a limo. You wont notice after a week though, you just learn to drive/park a little differently.

Do you think your DCLB has a wider turning radius than my 07 Tundra DC? The wheelbase on your truck is is almost 5" shorter than mine, so surely it turns a little sharper, right? If so, I'm fine with a DCLB because I'm used to the Tundra by now.
