Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

While I really miss working I don`t miss those brutal weeks like that ,

i got to the point it took twice as long to do simple jobs.

 

Good morning guys . Hope it’s starting out easy for you.

Kind of a busy week for me, I’m rushing to get my normal stuff done early because I’m headed to a tactical shotgun class this weekend with my son. Going to get him trained up on what us old cops call the Gospel of the Gauge. It will be a fun guys weekend!

 

HUh... never seen a Toyota Hirail before. Cool!

 

They are doing this to my sinuses on friday. Had to do a pre-surgery questionaire and one of the questions was "How big around is your neck".
Then the nurse left me a voicemail saying to wear something with a loose collar or button up so they could get 'it' around my neck after surgery...

What's it? What's going around my neck!?!

 

Awesome.

 

Hopefully, you'll be asleep by then and you'll never know what It is.

 

There is a lot in old stuff at the FD we do and guys are amazed. Have a great weekend

 

Not sure if that gives me peace of mind or not
I know I'll be out like a light when they're doing the job. 30 minutes under the knife (or rotary tool in this case). Out patient. I have to be there at 0645. My surgery is at 0715-0745 I believe. Then I'm gonna hurt for a while with tubes in my nose to drain all the gunk out. Monday I get the tubes pulled out. We'll see if I actually come back tuesday...

 

So the dedicated employees all came together & built a winning company. Can’t think of why you would want to replace ‘em.

 

Ford had another name they could have used with the strong brand name recognition, the Taurus. They even ran a wagon version of it for a while. When ford brought back the 500, sales tanked, until they called it a Taurus. Sales went strong on the boxy car until it was redesigned a few years later.

Mustang should have been left alone. But, not my circus.

This weekend is gonna suck!

 

Unfortunately, it happens frequently. I applied to a non supervisory position as an SME for a team I left last year because it had new management and a promised new direction. Only one of the four management members have even looked at what the team was built to do or come back to see what we actually did. The one that did is on afternoons, one of the slowest shifts for work and communication opportunities. I'm probably going to pull my application for it. Why jump back into the same old problems when I like what I'm doing?

 

Got the holes drilled and tapped. Ready to ship to Texas. Big ones are 33’ long, short ones are 8’. We have no way to move these is why we farmed it out.

 

I spied some beautiful stainless TIG welding on the way out.

 

That Milwaukee drill is a friggin' beast! We have one at work and its seen its fair share of abuse and keeps trucking along. Especially the dummy who keeps drilling through 1/4" steel with no lube. Can hear that drill bit howling halfway across the building...

 

This was 48 holes, 3/8" thick hot rolled. 3/8-16 tap. I didn't put lube on the bit but did on the tap

 

Same with LE, the new guys just think of the shotgun as a less lethal bean bag gun.
