No oil change with lifetime oil changes?

Just had my first Toyota Care appointment (6 month old 2022 off-road) and it looks like they only rotated the tires, topped off the fluids, and did the multi-point inspection. But, I had purchased the lifetime oil changes, 2 per year. When I made the appointment I asked for tire rotation and oil change (and a safety recall).

So, I suppose somewhere in the fine print it says that even if you get the lifetime oil changes, 2 per year, that you don't get an oil change if you are still under the Toyota Care period (since it provides the first oil change at 10K)? If so, really?!?

I bet the answer is in the contract you signed. But toyota says 10k oil changes on our trucks, so they are going to go off that.

First service under 10,000 miles doesn't include an oil change. Second service at or above 10,000 miles includes an oil change. Some dealerships will do the oil change on the first service depending on the service advisor.

Sounds correct, first service tire rotation under 10k. 10k first oil change. Your not going to get any more free oil changes other than the recommended 10k intervals from Toyota unless you pay.

There has to be a caveat, something like 10k miles or 1 year which ever comes first.

Change your oil and rotate your tires yourself.
Or go to the dealer and have some high school drug addicted drop-out put his greasy hands all over your truck.

Their basic techs are a bunch of idiots, forgetting to tighten the wheel lugs, put oil back in the motor, and hotrod on a test drive.

    Good luck with your truck.

My dealer didn't tell me about lifetime oil change but I had 2 year Toyota Care.. They changed oil, rotate tires, etc for free during 2 years... No problem.

Some dealers have those... Mine doesn't.. I think dealerships in Georgia have them. Not sure who else have them.

As someone stated previously, read the maintenance plan contract you purchased. I'm sure lifetime isn't the same as unlimited. They probably follow the factory maintenance schedule, which is every 10,000 miles for oil. Every 5,000 is what you got for the first one.

10,000 miles or what amount of time? At the rate i drive it would take me 5 years to get to 10,000 miles (2007... just passed 34,000.) I change mine out every 1,000 miles which come out to around 6-8 months... even then the oil (Mobile One) is pitch black from short trips/towing.

You forgot they also over-tighten the oil filter housing and strip the skid plate bolts.

Only a few dealers in at least in my county offer a lifetime oil and filter program. It says right on Toyota you can choose 2 per year.

edit: the caveat is it also says per manufacture schedule. That means you would need to tell them to use the special operating condition schedule, because if not, they will just do the 10k oil service.

I change my own oil. I always remember to put the filter element in the housing.
